Default Splash Guards

Since I picked up the C7 a little over a week ago, when driving around New Jersey for the 250 miles I've put on her, the sound of road debris being kicked up has been maddening.

I ordered the GM splash guards and installed them today. OMG, what a difference they make. The noise of pebbles, sand, and rocks being kicked up was almost nonexistent.

I bought the set of 4 for $120 and the dealer put them on free of charge (shocking).

I know nothing is as protective as XPel and the full side skirt treatment would be the best, but for the 10 minutes it takes to install these it is a great improvement.

Plus, they look pretty good on my Shark Gray Coupe

The OE splash guards are highly recommended. They are subtle but work!

I went with the ACS front splash guards which should be here in a couple of days. They should prove handy when my custom wheels come in!

Unfortunately a lot of what you're hearing is likely road debris hitting your wheels, especially with the sticky tires on a Z51. The guards do help protect the body, but the wheels remain fair game for a lot of abuse. The black painted ones seem to look the worst, and my silver painted wheels have definitely accumulated some rash and so do the chromes as posted here by several owners.

I too put them on right after I got the car. Big difference and you hardly notice they are there. IMO should be there from the factory as standard.

Worth the 120 bucks, should be a "standard" factory item.

Here are a couple of shots - a bit far away, but this shows how subtle they are and that they don't really show, but they do work for sure.

Have a great day, Paul

I just installed the GM splash guards as I did not like the 4X4 appearance of some of the aftermarket guards. Unfortunately, I find that the GM guards provide minimum protection, especially on the rear brake ducts. Side skirts are on order!

That little bit of lip makes quite a difference in crap hitting the side of the car.

Even brake dust was less when I put mine on

I will try and take pics tomorrow, although its supposed to rain here all day.

The GM black splash guards look great on Shark Gray

I also realized why the 2016 is more comfortable than my 2015 was. The steering wheel!!! The D bottom or Flat bottom creates just that little extra space that i need.

Did the same when I first got my C7. The rears work fine but if you look at where GM put the plastic protection, from the center of the door back to the front of the rear wheel well, no way the front Splash Guards can protect that area!
Found that plastic was still getting marked with pebbles. Bought side skirts and as you note they will provide the protection needed.
In fact after about 4 months I realized there was no need for the GM plastic which was marked and discolored by that time so removed it. That was over a year ago (I have a September 2013 build.) Not a scratch on the rocker panels, they look as they did when new. No marks on the outside of the side skirts but I can hear pebbles hitting the underside all the time!

First went with GM splash guards. Still had the black painted wheels on.

Then added skirts, splitter, chrome Z06 wheels. Before we did it we put under 200 miles on it and saw one or two small dings in the paint already in the lower area in front of the rear wheels. Since adding the skirts there has been no more damage. Just for fun I had XPEL put on the skirts and splitter.

I just installed my ACS splash guards and rockers. I've only put about 100 miles on them but very satisfied with the product so far.
