When I walk up to my Vette when its idling it has what sounds like valve slap or maybe belt noise. Anybody/everybody hear the same thing?
Yep, engine sounds mechanically loud...just the way it is.
Between the Direct Injection injectors and the high pressure fuel pump located in the engine it sounds a bit funky.
But it runs sooo good!

Also, some owners have experienced belt tensioner failure, causing noise. If that's failing I've heard you can tell by seeing oil leaking from the tensioner.
