I have a 2016 Z06 with Apple Car Play already installed when the car was built. I have a Samsung phone so I need Android Auto so i can mirror the infotainment screen. I called the dealership and they were not to familiar with the software install.
Has anyone had the install done on their Corvette?
How did it go and is everything working as it should be?
Quick visit in the dealership, upgrade completed and no certificate needed as some have said.
My only problem is that my Android phone is one version prior the required one to work all of the features. My phone runs on Kitkat or version 4.2. Android Auto requires 5 or higher. New cell phone in the future...
I'm very jealous of this feature... I wish I had it as well.
I guess all '15s are SOL right?
It's a shame that the upgrade only works on 16's. This is my 4th new Vette and first Z. It seems what ever year you buy they always have new things to entice new buyers with after you buy one. The good thing is it's great to own a Corvette and drive one.
I'm taking my Z in this Monday for the upgrade and I just picked up a S 7 Edge two weeks ago. My emails and text messages get spoken out so there is no distraction of reading them. That feature didn't work with my S5.
Went to the dealer today and had Android Auto software installed. Install went in nicely and everything was still working properly when I drove the car home. I'm looking forward to setting up my S7 and using google maps to navigate with. The Nav in my Z works really well but you just can't beat Waze or Google maps. I'm looking forward to seeing how the other features of my phone work on the Vette's infotainment screen.
