Hi all.. Wondering if anyone has ever seen this...
I've noticed on my 2014 if I'm driving and press the A/C button to turn off the A/C compressor and just want fresh air from outside, it seems to have no effect. The A/C compressor stays on and it blows ice cold air regardless of the fact that I turn it off with the button and the display screen even says "A/C OFF'.
Anybody ever heard of this? Sounds like a programming issue to me. Maybe I need a software update to fix this?
Hey Jerry, this is just a guess at this point (I'll check later this afternoon when I 'have' to wash my C7) - what 'mode' do you have the HVAC settings on? I believe if you have it in any of the defrost modes (such as the 'defrost/foot' mode) the a/c compressor will not be allowed to shut off . This is to help remove moisture for defrost purposes. If I'm wrong or that's not the issue, sorry about that.

No defrost. Just air from the main vents. Thanks for the input though, appreciate it...
Same as my Toyota Tacoma. If you dial the temp all the way down it turns on the A/C. It is just a simple shortcut to save you a button press by assuming if you go full cold you want A/C. Up one click on the temp then press the A/C button off. I haven't tried or seen that yet on my Vette but that is how it works on some other vehicles. I find it to be a little annoying.

I've never owned a car that behaves like this. Including my C6.
