Let me share my favorite way to use it.................

I travel a lot for work. One evening at a dinner in Amsterdam (all Dutch and German except me, and all of them spoke English) we had about 12 people around the restaurant table. The subject of how long everyone has been married came up. When I said how long we've been married everyone was kind of shocked (40 years).

The woman seated next to me asked how we've made it that long, especially with me gone a lot. I told her we always do things to let the other know we're thinking about them. She asked for an example.

So I told her/them that I could make the horn honk on her car and she would call me within 30 seconds. (side bar, yes, the app will work from anywhere in the world you have internet access including an airplane - I'm on one now. Ask me how I know. ).

They all sat silent while I explained how it works. I did a locate on her Yukon Denali so I knew it was in the garage. Sent the signal to honk the horn. Waited about 15 seconds and sent the signal to stop it.

Then I handed my cell phone to my Dutch friend on the other side of me and told him to answer the phone and put it on speaker when she called.

Sure enough, it quickly rang. He answered and immediately put it on speaker. Her first words were 'I hope you're not horny'. Silence, and then the whole table broke out into laughter.

Next thing she says is 'I'm on speaker aren't I?'. 'Yep'. Then she said hello to everyone and we had a great laugh.

So......there are a lot of great uses.

BTW, this generated a lot of discussion on the C7 too.

I really enjoy the remote start from my phone. I start my car, have the A/C on or the heater as applicable, and the car is ready to go when I get into it a few minutes later. It will turn off after 10 minutes and that's ok.

I typically use the remote start on the FOB instead. However, I've tried the remote start via the On Star app a handful of times, and it failed to start the car probably 1/3 of the time. Not important enough for me to chase it.

Now the remote unlock feature is extremely useful, in case of emergency, as I have locked my FOB in the trunk twice over the years and it gives me some peace of mind.

OP - are you sure you are running the most current version of the app? If so, it would probably be worth removing and re-adding just for grins and giggles.
