Given the opportunity to buy a 2016 base car with NNP vs a 2014 Z51 LT2 with 5 to 10 K miles for about the same money. Which would you do??

2016 a lot of nice improvements over the 2014.

I don't buy used high performance cars for many reasons. You have no idea how the used car was broken in or used. Start with a new car that you can take car of as you see fit from the beginning. Unless you plan to track the car, the Z51 package is not necessary.

That's a tough one. I have a 2014 2LT Z51 and absolutely love it (last car was a cammed C6Z). Z51 gets you cooling, brakes, E-diff, wheels, spoilers, ect... And if it has Mag ride, that is a big time plus.

If you are just a typical driver, base will serve you fine. If you are like many of us, and see red line on most drives, go for the Z51

Simple decision: If one of the two is not exactly what you want, then neither. If you want a '16 2LT Z51, then keep looking. You'll find it...

My cars are only driven on beautiful days, never driven in the rain, and I change the oil twice as many times as as recommended by the manual. I won't even expel gas in my car.
The next buyer of my car can rest a sure that he's getting a vehicle that was taken care of with tender loving care, and I was saving it for them.
I just don't understand why my best friend and my little brother both say they will never ride with me again?

I agree with most of the above:
- Don't want to guess how the previous owner broke it in or took care of it.
- Don't want to find out the real reason why they're selling with very low miles.
- Don't want the Z51 stuff -- if I go to a track, I'll use their car, not mine.
- Wanted a car that was exactly the way I wanted it, and couldn't find one used. (Also really was interested in a C6Z but the ones I liked are as expensive as a new C7 and have all the liabilities mentioned above).

So, all that said, I just ordered a new C7 base M7 3LT with NPP exhaust. I think it will be more than enough car for street driving. Current pricing from MacMulkin is pretty good.

Remember that the time for ordering a C7 is almost gone -- just two weeks left, I think -- though there are lots of cars on dealer lots. In fact, there's a pretty nice base model with Laguna Blue paint and grey salami interior M7, NPP, 2LT and a chrome wheel upgrade that a dealer offered here yesterday, if that color appeals to you: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ance-sale.html
Price seems a tad high, though. I'd be looking for at least 10% off MSRP.

I've heard of smoke free...now we have "fart free". I can see this on a dealer's add-on sticker right under nitrogen filled tires and etched security glass. lol

Good choice on the '16 and post up pics when you get the car.

Just like mine minus the red calipers, couldn't see another 600.00 buck for them.

Very cool. I really wanted the red calipers. Call it vanity.
