Car is dirty, 12" of rain and it is my DD. Rear emblem the red is darker by a shade or so, because it is shaded. Pattern is the same, just sized a bit differently do to the size of the emblem.
On my car, stock emblems, the checked flag pattern is different, I just checked. One one the square at the top is silver on the other one it is black. On yours I see that the top square is silver on both.

Wasn't suggesting of post more photos, just wondering if others had noticed the difference.
Nice to know that others are getting driven and DO get dirty!
Not to distract but I noticed the badge in the clear headlight covers. Transparent of course but they are there, very small, look closely. A little added touch by GM I suppose, FYI.

Is it possible that this car has a chrome emblem on one end and a carbon flash emblem on the other end?

That's what it sound like. I've never noticed the difference between badges until reading this post, but now that I pay attention, the chrome and CF emblems are consistently different. I wonder why GM would go to the trouble of making the 2 versions different?
Here's my guess, the chrome emblem was the initial design, and it has a black square in the upper left corner. Black was designed later, and it would look odd with the same black square in the corner (creating a large black blob), so they just switched the grey and the black. Problem solved

I don't think it was so much a question of switching the grey and the black. Where one is black the other is chrome. As to the non-black/non-chrome area (with the grooves) they are pretty much the same, I think the one with the black just looks a lighter grey in because it's next to the black.
