Z51... She's a hot option, but she's not a model

Drifting
I don't get it. Why the bickering on stuff which doesn't matter? Buy what you want, drive it like you want, maintain it like you want, call it what you want. What you buy, how you drive it, how you maintain it and what you call it has no impact on me or my car.
The Z51 is a separate model which Chevy doesn't market as such. Mr Charles says this in the video. Both sides are correct from different view points.
I'm sure the "yes it is", "no it isn't" comments will continue forever in the Corvette world.

Hell.....you probably believed Tadge when he said the 2015's wouldn't get the A8 either! Pick and choose what you choose. Every thinking man clearly knows the Z51 is its OWN model! However, I kinda like the OP's model better

Seriously, back in the muscle-car years, you could order any combination of options, but the marketing guys created "packages" such as the GTO, 442, GS, etc. The badge/VIN is worth more than the underlying car.
FYI, the many of the "options" were back-door racing parts... the Z28 was a homologation package for Trans-Am racing... first year they sold a handful of them... the racing bits were in the trunk...
Also, check out the ZL-1... it was a NASCAR engine... how many of them did they sell? Like 5?

Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Fenders on the C7 indicate the model real clear...there are two...stingray and Z06. Now there will be Grand Sport. Z51 has been on the option list for decades and never determined as a model, only an option. On chevrolets website it shows Stingray and Z06, then you choose your options, of which Z51 is within. Seems to me the thinking required also requires some spin zone tactics.

When you put a Z51 badge on it becomes a model. At least that is what some owners think

Z 5 1 ? It's a letter, followed by a number and another number.

Actually, I have a great idea: Let's call Z51 a "Packdel" (get it: PACKage and moDEL) or how about "Modage" (Get it: MODel and packAGE). I'm a super GENIUS.
See how easy that was, now we can all rest at night

My window sticker from the dealer says... "2016 Corvette Stingray Coupe w/Z51"
My dealer has me coming in for the 500 mile break in service, and the "Z51" guy is doing it...LOL
Z51 is a performance package on the Stingray, and I love it!

I own the base model, which is pure and simple, refreshing. Nothing fancy, but very elegant.
