Default C7 listed weight from the bash, very odd.

There was a "performance" slide at the bash (search Corvette Blogger's bash page), it listed the weights of the various 2017's.

Listed weights:
Stingray: 3,156 pounds
Stingray w/Z51: 3,227 pounds
GS: 3,252 pounds
Z06: 3,350 pounds

Even if these are "dry" weights, these certainly don't seem remotely correct, based on what we have been told (by GM and the press).
Misprint?????

Jimmy

I recall the original "dry weights" for base C7 starting with a "29xx" so I'm guessing those are curb weights.

Keep in mind that these numbers are likely the no option base cars, while the cars weighed by the press are typically optioned out quite a bit, which is how you end up with the 3444 lb loaded Z51 measured press cars.

Those are dry weights.

For the base stingray, the dry weight is 3156 and the curb weight is 3298, a difference of 142 pounds.

For the Z06, the dry weight is 3350 and the curb weight is 3524, a difference of 174 pounds(more oil weight and supercharger intercooler water weight plus the hydraulic fluid weight in the eLSD vs the base Stingray).

These numbers are backed up by the numbers GM posted for the 2013 Z06 with a dry weight of 3041 and a curb weight of 3199, a difference of 158 pounds(more oil weight in the dry sump C6 Z06 vs the lower capacity wet sump system in the base C7).

Curb Weight of Coupe with Z51 is 3444
Curb Weight of Coupe without Z51 is 3298

These are the comparative no additional Options weights.
