Museum Delivery Questions
I will be ordering a 2017 Corvette soon and already know I want this option. However I have a few questions. I am pretty sure a Chevy dealer in Bowling Green gets the car, correct?
1. How does the car get from factory to dealer, flatbed wrecker or transport truck?
2. How does the car get from the dealer to the Corvette Museum, is it driven or taken on flatbed wrecker?
3. What happens if there is something wrong with the car upon delivery?
4. Has anyone ever had a bad experience during a museum delivery?

The NCM has a complete PDI department. They will take care of any problem that arises before the car leaves the NCM property.
Once your gone the car is covered by a GM warranty good at ANY Chevrolet dealer in the US

Car is delivered direct from the Assembly Plant to the NCM via tractor trailer.

Not only do you have the best PDI team doing your prep, I've read on here where they've brought the car back to the plant to fix problems before people took delivery. It's a lot of fun, you'll love it!
Congrats!

It is a great experience and the museum team does a great job of prepping and explaining the car. My 12 year old daughter and I picked up our Z06 at the NCM in late March and had a wonderful time.

Thanks for all the comments. My wife and I plan to order a 2017 Corvette from one of the forum vendors pretty soon. Not sure which one because there seems to be no clear choice of which one is the best. We do know that buying from a dealer in Texas is not an option. I tried hard to do that in 1998 and 2000 without success due to just not getting a fair deal. Plenty of stories about that but that is in the past and no longer important.
We have had a 1973, 1981 1/2, 1998, and a 2000 Corvette so we are not new to the Corvette world. Just got out of the last one in 2003 when grandkids came along. Now it's time to get back to this awesome car and visit some cool places throughout our great country.
I have been lurking about here for a while learning all I can. One thing I have learned is there seems to be lots of folks with lots of life experience like me! We are boomers born in the 50's ready to enjoy retirement with a Corvette playing a big part in that adventure.

One thing that rarely gets mentioned in NCM delivery threads is that Corvettes ordered with the NCM delivery option (RPO R8C) have a notice on the vehicle as it is being built identifying it as an NCM delivery. Does it guarantee a perfect build, no. But it does alert everybody on the line.

Like many here, I've been a member of the NCM for over ten years and have been there at least once during every one of those years. I will say with ZERO hesitation that there are no finer examples of ambassadors for the Corvette brand than the people who run the museum. As others have already said, do the museum delivery; it will be a great experience, guaranteed.
