Bob,
Let's not make this a which jacking puck is better thread. Having said that, I was recommending what works best for using the E46 emergency jack.
Trust me, these are better for that particular jack head because they are lower profile (more clearance) and tapered which will stabilize the head far better. A floor jack is a different animal.

I don't know if it is a fair comparison to make a claim something is better without actually testing it. I don't have the jack so I wouldn't personally make a claim one way or another, but if someone wants to make a comparison thread I'd be happy to send a set for testing. Unless you already ordered a set and have tested them. Most of my track rats that have ordered them get orange to remember to take them out and have been pleased.

Bob, I did test it, and I needed the tapered and lower profile puck to feel comfortable w/ using the BMW emergency jack, given the shape and angle of the lifting head. The whole point is to have jack small enough to carry around. Not many want to drive around with floor jacks, but of course, any puck will work great with a floor jack.
You'd have to see for yourself to know what I'm talking about. It's difficult to explain.

No doubt, but the whole point of this thread and my response was how to avoid getting stranded, and what's best for a portable emergency jack. I have several different types of pucks including the same style you recommended. The ones I recommended are best for a small emergency jack.
