I have used them ALL...I like the tire to look natural with a slight sheen, I found the best to use is LUCAS. For superior then the rest, lasts, does not was off immediately, doe snot give you that wet look, and does not spit off after you apply it onto your panels. I highly recommend LUCAS. I stay away from all of AMORAL Products
I'm somewhere in the middle, don't like too much shine but like the tires nice a black like when they were new. And I don't like getting the tire product overspray on the car or the wheels.
My solution has been to spray whatever product I use (I've tried several) on a blue paper shop towel and then wipe the tire down.
Another one for 303 Aerospace Protectant.
Even if put I it on bit heavy, it soaks in quick and doesn't fling off at all.
Very slight shine and tires look clean and natural like they were when new.
I spray it on a small sponge first and wipe it on
The closest look to the way they are suppose to look, once the yellow has been removed, is to use 303.
To remove the yellow you need to take the wheels off lay them on the ground then clean them with chemicals that will break down the yellow.
When a tire is on the car the chemical runs off, dry tires respond better to chemical cleaners, if you spray water on the tire first you cut the strength of the cleaner.
A small scrub brush, and a good cleaner like Walmart Purple, on dry tires will clean the yellow off better, but you may have to clean the tires 3 or 4 times.
+1 for another Adams Tire shine. I went from the VRT to this when they came out with this. Seems like most off shelf stuff at the stores turns turns tires brown and nasty even if they are clean.
Used to use Adam's VRT (which is great) until I found Car Pro Perl and I've tried everything. Not cheap, but the gallon i bought will last me at least 5 years.
First thing to do before applying any protectant/shine etc... is to clean the rubber first, it gets dirty just like the rest of the car.
1: I use Spray Nine on the tire, spray on in the shade, let sit for 15-20 seconds
2: powerwash off and you will see the black sh%^%&t just melt off
You may or may not want to add a shine after that.
Lasts a good bit as well without browning the tire like the last few I've used
I agree. I've also tried about 10 different products. Meguiar's Hot Shine actually does shine.
Also... it's easier to put on without spraying the nearby paint surfaces.
Any of these products actually repel dust and dirt?
Last time somebody slipped some of this kind of product on the tires of one of my vehicles was at a car wash. By the time I pulled in to my garage after going down my half-mile gravel driveway, it look like I had four 20 inch dust frosted donuts on my car.
