Got caught in the rain today. Actually, a downpour. It was raining so hard that I couldn't see. Had to pull into a parking lot for a while.
I was concerned with hydroplaning and traction because mine has a manual transmission. I just set it to the "weather" mode, drove at 45 MPH, and all was fine. It never lost traction. Ran great through the watery mess. I'm happy about that.

Corvette Club meeting tomorrow, showers forecast. Despite all the rain my car didn't get wet and I drove it to every function. I was afraid the clouds would dump but didn't happen. Amazing!
I'm less concerned about traction with a MT car, because I have complete control over what the transmission is doing at all times. There are no computers or torque converters "guessing" what I want.

Drove from Ct to home last weekend. Heavy fog and rain. Even got down to 10 mph on the Jersey Pike. Car was fantastic and didn't melt!
Weather mode?? What's that supposed to do?

From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

"W" ain't gonna help in the rain, snow a bit but not rain.
Well, my previous Vette was a very nice, pristine C5 (1999) that was virtually a "garage queen." Just drove it to car shows and club functions. When I got rid of it, it looked brand new. I told my wife, when we got the C7, that we were going to drive this one, come rain or shine. And, we have done just that. It is a great ride and will not be another "garage queen."

There's not much wheel spin when starting off in the rain, even in S or Tr unless you really want there to be.
I laugh when I see posts or threads about driving in the rain. I live in southwest Florida and if I kept the Vette in the garage for fear of rain, it would seldom come out. It's my daily driver and it has seen plenty of rain.
