I was out giving the vet some love yesterday and I'm still noticing in manual mode a rough 3-2 downshift. It doesn't matter how I'm driving, I hit the paddle to downshift, the engine revs up but it seems to do it with the new gear engaged first. The car shoots forward for a second, then the engine grabs and starts to brake.
The 2-1 downshift is completely seemless. The 2-1 downshift feel like my A6 in the 2010 and 2012 GS. The 3-2 feels like I'm downshifting without rev matching or in a car without paddles and you move the shift lever out of drive to 3.
Can someone else try their 3-2 downshift in manual mode? Let me know what you experience.
Also, I do notice the transmission doesn't like to go from start to stop start to stop quickly. Like driving through the grocery store parking lot and having stop signs a few hundred feet apart. I think this is pretty normal though.
As for a solution, I'm about ready to take it into the dealer and see what they say. I've put almost 1800 miles on the car since I got it so I'm feeling confident the 3-2 downshift in manual mode isn't a symptom of the transmission learning.
It is rev-matching. It will bring the engine RPM before it makes it the shift and it wont slow down right away like a normal car. It will do it 2-1 as well if you are going fast enough when you put in 1st.
I tried the 3 to 2 downshift and it was smooth. I went downshifting 6 all the way to 1 and all were the same reaction. Quick blip and into gear smoothly. Almost simultaneously.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to take it in and see what they say.
