Just another "feature" from GM that does not think people can drive their own cars.
I think it could be a legal/lazy thing. That way when someone rolls back and hits someone they can't turn and say well I didn't know the car rolled back GM should have said something. Alot of things I believe that may sound miniscule and dumb are there for reasons to keep from having frivilous lawsuits being filed and wasting peoples time.
What do you guys think of the hill assist on the stick shift cars? I had an issue with the feature today. I didn't realize it engaged and I stalled it. I wasn't on much of a hill. The weird thing is when I started it again it stalled when I let the clutch out???? Anyone else had this issue?
I've never not had a standard and LOVE this feature

Have a 1LT/Z51 and not sure I have it. Only have 70 miles so far and no hill starts except 1 where it was a small incline and i did roll back a bit to see if it was on.

Yes. It's on all trim levels and it's a great feature. Also, if you use the e brake and forget to release it, it releases automatically when the car moves forward.
this very cool feature is nothing new. i learned to drive 53 years ago on my older brothers '49 studebaker starlite coupe that had it. i don't even notice it's there on the c7.
