Keep your tints legal. That is the #1 excuse the Florida HP use as a reason to do a drug search. It's a real pain. You have to sit there and wait for the dog. I see it all the time on I75.
I use a ceramic tint. but I keep it within the legal limits. Corvettes are enough of a target as is.

In pa, they don't care one bit, I never had an issue with tint at all but as soon as you cover up the lic plate you will get pulled over in a heart beat, I have had cops say "man the car looks awesome" but I need you take the plate cover off please, now I rock a carbon fiber plate cover with no issues. I get more thumbs up from LE than corvette waves!!
I'm losing my night vision now that I'm getting older. Don't tint anymore. I drive at night and there is way too much reflection to deal with on side windows. I pulled out in front of a drunk driver that was driving in the city without headlights. Talk about rage! The guy didn't hit me but he sure tried to run me down after that. 911 fixed him pretty quick.
I'm looking at the 3M Crystalline 70 on the windshield for heat reduction. Anyone with windshield tint have HUD issues?
Any while I'm on the crystalline kick, what do you think about using it on the transparent top? Or is this too far-fetched? I like the open feel without the liner but am not a fan of the heat.
Window tinting really looks great.... Sadly window tinting is illegal in New York State and is the easiest ticket for the cops to write. Starting 2017, vehicles with window tint will not pass inspection. Factory tinted windows are acceptable.
As a N.Y. state repair shop, we are removing window tint on 2 - 3 vehicles per week.
If you look at most tint on cars (including mine), it is not within the legal limits. Luckily, after 18 years of cars and driving, I never had an issue with a ticket - knock on wood. Perf N Restore, I am glad I do not live in an area where I could walk out of a building and have a ticket placed on my car. I guess living in North Carolina has some advantages.
There's no question it's harder to see out at night but there's also way less glare at night too. I got the maximum that Florida law says I can have but I've seen some cars way darker than mine.
I don't remember what levels he said. This shop in Tampa does most of the higher end vehicles in the area. I told him to use his best judgment and put what he would on his car.
Turned out great.
