ONSTAR renewal coming up in June on C7
QUOTED via letter renewal for Guidance plan
$378.73 annual
EXCESSIVE and MUCH HJIGHER THAN LAST YEAR
IS GM getting greedy again??? GM negotiable?

Any one have input before I cancel????

Waste of money IMO.

I called them once and asked them if in an emergency, if I didn't have an ONSTAR subscription, if they would help me in a life or death medical situation. Their answer was no. Just FYI where GM stands morally........

Save your money, nice feature when it is free during the trial period but really not needed with all the other options available in today's tech world.

Aren't there several levels of coverage for varying cost? $378 sounds like all the bells and whistles, some features you don't really need. I think the basic is much cheaper. For me I don't need the nav stuff since I have an in-dash nav already. So that cost come right off the top.

I have no interest in OnStar except for the phone app that allows me to lock/unlock the car if necessary, which is free for five years (Basic Plan). The monthly diagnostic email is nice and part of the free plan, but I wouldn't pay to get it.

The base plan is only $159 per year and includes 'diagnostics'. And my insurance company gives me a discount because I have on star.

I need to keep Onstar so that I can locate my vehicle. I travel most of the time and I need to know where she is, whether she is a home the garage. My insurance gives me a discount because I have Onstar.

Build your own OnStar plan

My OnStar has run out, and is one of those "options" I've never kept after the trial period.

However, on my 16 Z06 I was thinking it might be nice to have the "Stolen Vehicle Assistance" kept active. First few OnStar "renewal" emails and in order to get the SVA one needed to purchase various other coverage's.

Then I got a "build your own" plan, but the SVA was about $13.00 a month, still hesitated.

Just got an email where SVA is now ONLY $5/month, so guess who now has SVA on his beastly Z06.. has text message sent if alarm goes off, GPS pinpoints vehicle and advisor has ability to send signal to slow the vehicle or prevent it from restarting.

A GREAT piece of mind for a mere $5 a month!
