Default Corvette C7 Magic Is More Than Skin Deep

Warren Parsons, global chief architect of body structures at General Motors, tells why the heart and soul of the C7 Corvette might lie in its 6.2-liter V8 engine, but the magic of driving the seventh-gen ‘Vette goes far deeper than that.

Far better use for aluminum than in the bed of a Ford F-150. Gotta pick the right tool for the job, naked or otherwise.

I love it! Using my C7 as my Daily Driver I am always in awe of what a great vehicle Chevrolet has made! This is my 3rd American vehicle I have owned over my lifetime, all Chevy's and I already want another!

Definitely the heartbeat of America!

There was a C7 parked this morning at the airport here where I work, and as I pulled in with my C4 I was struck by its wicked beauty.

Then I thought well, if it hadn't been for people snapping up C4s back in the day, that new work of automotive art may never have happened. So all in all it was a positive experience

I agree with the comment about using aluminum on a Vette rather than the bed of an F-150. I know Ford is trying to meet emissions standards, but when I toss rocks in my truck I want them to hit steel. And when I want my sports car to get up and boogie, I want carbon fiber and aluminum!

Ford showed great leadership, they will have the entire market following. Corvette is a winner because of it's frame and so many other smart design decisions and materials

Ford already has the lead. Their aluminum truck bed isn't going to win anyone over but the EPA, who all ride bikes in good weather. The F-150 is a great truck, but great has to also mean tough. You know, Ford tough.

The C7 has a beautiful chassis IMO. One of the classiest of any sports car made.

Too bad it is buried in that drop dead gorgeous body. Life is hard.
