Hi guys I am going to pickup my new corvette 2016 2lt A8 tomorrow. I was just looking online, and I found out that c7 vettes have issues with torque converter. I have a question for people whose cars were manufactured in 2016 not before that because mine was made in April 2016. My question is are you guys having any issues with torque converter in your A8's.
i believe they were fitted with new parts in dec of 15. Pick up your car, try not too cramp your cheeks from smiling too much, and enjoy your car. Worry about things if they happen, not when you drive it off the lot...

Quick answer: I have an April 2016 build A8; no problems at all.
Forums are great to get replies to questions and get ideas for tweaks and upgrades, but also can make one kind of paranoid. I know some have had really bad experiences.
But if you worry about everything you read . . . I had a 996 that was supposed to have the intermediate shaft bearing fail and/or the porous casting leak coolant into the cylinders. 65K miles later I traded the 996 on an Audi S5 that was supposed to have carbon buildup trash the motor. 5 years later I traded the Audi on my C7 A8, and having just a blast!!
PS: Paddle shifting is pretty neat. Had this with my S5 too, but more fun with the C7.
Yes there are some cars out there with A8 issues, but to put things in perspective, 23,232 A8 Corvettes were produced in 2015 and probably just as many, if not more, were produced in 2016. So if there are over 40,000 A8 C7s on the road, the number of folks having issues has to be a very small percentage. While we certainly see quite a few guys on here with issues, most come here to seek information about their issue rather come here to say "hey my A8 is running great". It would be nice to know what the true population is of A8s with issues, but I suspect it's a pretty small percentage overall.

Mine was built in Aug of 2015. Does anyone know of any documentation explaining what was changed? I don't currently see any problems but the potential is always on my mind while enjoying the car. My seat of the pants gauge tells me the car runs better after a day of autocross too!

"The bridge that falls makes a thousand times more noise than the one that stands."
Forums are rich for information-this place has been great for me, but forums are places to post problems, so the actual incidence of these problems could be much smaller than you might worry about..
BMW motorcycle forums are rife with threads about final drive failures. In 300K of riding neither I, nor any of my friends have ever experienced a FD failure.
Think about those millions of bridges that are standing around the world, doing their jobs perfectly well.
Go enjoy your car-remember you have a warranty, right?
