She said she wasn't hurt and didn't go to the doctor to get checked out. I settled with the guys insurance company on the car but held out for about 6 months before signing off on bodily injury.

Well, she did in fact have whiplash and it was around 4-5 years later when she really started to have bad neck and shoulder pain. To late then to go after the guys insurance company.

I wish that my wife had gone to the doctor within several days of the accident as he might have seen something.
I'm sorry to see this post about faking some medical issues. For the record I am concerned that it was directed at me or maybe somebody else suggesting that I should do it, is horrible.

This dealership not the bodyshop, is so shifty that they made an offer in writing to buy my wreak prior to fixing it. Then failed to honored the purchase order that they wrote. Claiming, after three days of excuses and my waiting, that the trade in price for my car was based on getting it fixed by Geico first. So, that means that a certified GM repair shop that works on Mercedes-Benz and does Factory spec Aluminum work as well as re-certifies in writing that the car CAN be CPO'ed as it was when I bought it, and still the dealer won't honor is agreement with me when I dropped it off 43 days ago. The above dribble was in response to why don't you trade it in. Take my work for it, when its done. Its' done. Three dealers will bid on it and DV will be paid. Might take 3 years but I will wait.

Looks like a new Z, congratulations!

Unfortunately the laws about texting and cell phones aren't enforced/don't have sufficient penalties to deter idiotic behavior. There are far too many "stupids" taking up space and consuming valuable oxygen.

I am in complete agreement. I just look in horror at the drivers around me not looking at the road and there is a cop right there not doing anything about it. If the penalties were stiff enough there is a point where it would be a deterrent.

The old one is pictured here on the forum still in pieces all over the body shop area. It's amazing when I visited it before this new purchase that the mechanic knew where everything was. I just purchased this after about extensive GM assistant looked in the computer for remaining cars. So far only 2 in Florida I mean 1 left triple black mine. Produced 3/16. 483 vin

Glad no one was hurt. What a beautiful car so this accident makes you sick. Does not look like frame damage, hopefully. I would still be concerned whether or not the body shop can get the new body panels to fit exactly and match the paint upon repair. To be honest with you it may never look as good as it did and with a 30K in repairs I would probably trade the car the day it comes out of the body shop. Not trying to be a hard case just what I would do. Hope the car repair is perfect for you and you satisfied with it. Good luck.

Frame damage of course. All the parts the body shop ordered are pictured earlier in my posts show the frame parts lying there are to be aluminium welded back. Not for me, maybe Carmax.

So did you just go and buy a new one while you're working it out on the old one? What was the final resolution on the wrecked one?

In a word YES. Geico had almost 50 days to get this claim handled. Geico never called me except once to accused me of hitting a car in a 3 car accident. The Geico adjuster at the body shop washed his hands of me. The body shop rep, told me I can't keep coming by the body shop, the director said I'm not allowed in the back to see my cars progress. The dealership actually tried to buy the car, the day I brought it in for Thierry used car. Which had torn seats. The Geico team 3 adjusters made it had to get any work even started. Not until 8/10 is when the body shop started putting it back together. Granted the shop says the car will be recertified like it was when I bought it, so great it won't be hard to sell it. But, in all good faith how can I sell it without disclosing it was in a seriously damaged crash wherein the GM certified shop claims it like new. REALLY. would you buy it or a same without a crash. DUH.
With only 2 C7-R cars left in the state, I had no choice. I had to pull the trigger on this new car.

I once bought a high dollar car that had been hit front and rear. Seller was completely honest and it was all cosmetic. He actually told me more than the carfax did. Because of his honesty I bought it - better half pointed out to me that he told me way more than he had to based on what carfax reported.

Owned the car 8 years and about 75k miles - all was good. New owner loves it - he too knows it has been hit.

Car was fine. This sucks right now, but if it is cosmetic, it will be ok.

If you are worried about diminished value by all means spend $200 to talk to a good lawyer - that's cheap compared to the car. I have had my share of disappointments too but when people point out that no one died or is deathly ill, it all comes back into perspective.

MY answer
The body shop said it will be able to retain its CPO. And this car has the Spice Red interior. Along with the comp seats, and carbon fiber roof, it's MSRP was 99.3k. We'll see what the dealers will offer for it. Keep you guys informed.

Sorry about your accident. I also understand the concern about whether it will be the same after it is fixed. I can tell you from experience that there will be some amount of diminution in value due to the accident. In fact in higher end cars the percentage of the diminution in value can be quite high. You should check with a reputable dealer about an estimate of what kind of effect this accident will have on the value of your car and use that in discussions with the the insurance company. I was rear ended in my 6 month old Lexus a few years ago and the diminution in value was more than the cost or repair.
