11 years with no front plate in Texas and so far no tickets! My sister got a ticket on her WRX so she ended up putting one on.

Do you ever have a drink...or maybe two with Dinner? If you do you never want to be stopped for no front plate...and end up with the Officer smelling alcohol on your breath. To me it's not worth it. I would love to go with no front plate but like the factory one because we have to. NOTE: I said...a "FEW DRINKS". So don't start hammering my post like I am advocating drinking and driving. Thank you.

I live in WI which requires front plates but have never had them on my corvettes for the last 25 years and never got stopped. I guess I just got lucky, if a cop wants to be a jerk he could stop me but many times they have been across from me at a intersection and never turn around to pull me over.

Again when we get topics about states with different laws where it would be helpful knowing which state your from, why are some of you so afraid to put your city or state in your profile when you post something?

It actually looks great and was designed as part of the car by Krik Binion and his design team.

Of course, there is always that one officer who's there to fill a quota, but it has not been my experience.
This is so true!

The state troopers in my neck of the woods are death on no front plate. The Sheriffs don't seem to care.

My cars have been pulled over for this reason numerous times:

2005 when the original nose wart fell off when cleaning. I had the replacement bracket in the trunk when the trooper pulled me over. USMC plate surround. Warning ensued.

2009, pulled over twice for this. One warning (again thank you USMC surround), and one who didn't care that we were literally on the way to Zip to get the plate mounted. That was a fine, and most irritating, because we were on our way to comply with the law.

2014, I was at a stop sign in the brand new Stingray (very few seen on the streets), and a state trooper to my left, he stopped and waved to let me go even though he had no reason traffic-wise as he had complete control of the intersection. Silly me, I thought he wanted to look at it, but, no, he just wanted to know why I had no front plate (temp tag) and wanted to have reason to pull me over. He pulled behind me and then to the left as I turned right.

Thank goodness the aeroplate works so well.

I did the exact same thing and it was real easy. When, if ever I go back to the track, just remove it or even remove the plate and drill some huge big holes in the main brkt's face. It might not even cause a heat problem. I autocross all the time, which shouldn't be a problem, since the runs are short. It took 5 vettes to have a decent brkt.

MN requires one, but I see a lot of cars running without one, so taking my chances for now. I do have a Zip removable in the trunk just in case.

Ok maybe I confused some people. I used the decorative aero plate with the corvette attachment removed. Not the license plate front bracket. 2 different items.

Included with my car when i picked it up was the front aero plate that says corvette on the attachable plate and then a seperate rectangle front plate bracket. I removed the plate that said corvette, drilled some holes and secured the license plate. Contours right around the curve and doesn't look half bad

My main concern regarding tickets is . . .
no-plate = warning
no-plate + visible radar detector = ticket!

(Happened to me once for a minor speeding ticket. The officer was planning on a warning, but noticed the RD and changed it to a ticket . . .) [OK, my only speeding ticket in the last 20 years--so not a habit]

I got ticketed in Portland, Or for not having front plate about 2 months after having car. $150 I think it was, my wife paid it. You can also get ticketed by the parking meter police in Portland for not having the plate on. And that won't be a warning either. I guess I was unlucky when the LEO pulled me over and didn't give me a warning.
So I have the plate and wear it now.
Years ago I had an Austin Healey 3000 and got pulled over for not having a front plate and the cop completely examined the car for nit pick violations and I ended up with about $125 worth of fines! So if I would have had the plate on I wouldn't have been stopped in the first place.

Just my thoughts of "no front Plate"
A "no front plate" to me is "probable cause" for a traffic stop and usually there are other violations that come into play after the stop. No front plate is actually a deliberate violation, so usually no written or verbal warning like your burned out tail light, etc. Usually dollars involved in my almost 40 yrs as LEO experience. The good and bad (depending what side you're on) reasons not having are, No front Camera Record, Radar doesn't bounce off of fiberglass to good, police can't I.D. your vehicle meeting it and cosmetic looks (which is most of us).
What used to really disturb me was looking for a certain solden car I was meeting and couldn't Identify the car's plate and have to turn around and go catch up and read the rear plate, then usually be upset, and stop it and write a written warning. Then later, if I saw the same car, excellent proof of a deliberate act, then issue citation for court.
2.5 cents of my no f. plate brain thoughts

Had same problem
ZIP corvette parts has a SUPER easy on/easy off plate
So easy it can be done in seconds
Doesn't touch paint or interfere with ground clearance
NO drilling either!

I've gone two plus years without a front plate in Ohio. It really takes away from the car to have a front plate. IMO

I really, really doubt that my local police department is trolling these forums, going to get a warrant to find my IP address and tie it to a specific postal address per my ISP, and they try to tie it to a specific person in order to execute a < $100 ticket.

The front plates are so terribly ugly on the C7, I don't know how anyone can stand to deface it...

Anyway, in a few years, I plan to move to Indiana, and then it won't even be illegal.

I have the Show N Go remote plate holder my 04 . It's been on car for about 5 years with no problems .I just had to come up with enough guts to drill holes on vette to mount bracket. I will install on next corvette. I like how it looks on C7 and that it folds under nose of car for cruise nights.
