Default Enclosed Transportation

I finally got my C7 !!! I am stoked. Now I need to bring my baby back to GA and I am looking for Transportation suggestions.

Kerbeck sent me some names but said that they don't recommend or endorse any particular Transportation Company. I am looking for member's suggestions that had a good experience with the company that transported their car.

In addition, any ideas how much this could cost? The car will need to be transported from Atlantic City, NJ to Atlanta, GA.

Thanks.

I know. But 900 miles of highway on a car without any protection!!! The paint will look like Swiss cheese when I am home and for the first 500 miles I have to vary the speed because of the break-in recommendation. ugh...

Kerbeck did the same for me they gave me a place called Passport transport, and they did a good job and took care of me. Kerbeck says that because if they give a recommendation and it doesn't go smoothly you could blame them and thats no good.

I purchase my car from MacMulkin and had it shipped via Intercity. Was satisfied with their cost and service.

Another vote for Plycar. I had them ship my car from the Corvette Museum to Los Angeles.

Intercity Lines has shipped a couple cars for me and is an amazing company. Driver communication was seamless (I got routine updates), delivery was on time from PA to FL. Just a great transaction.

Actually they were late...Driver said 0730 on Tuesday am and he called me at the end of my street at 0733. I need to talk to Customer Service about that.

We were moving last month and I pulled my '66 with my truck and had them haul my other toy.

Driving is great, but it's one less thing to worry about, certainly in my case. Good luck.

Don't be a ***** - it's a car. It can handle it. You'll have to put the miles on it sometime and surely your speed will vary during those 900 miles. The paint will be fine...

I highly recommend Laurand Transport. Rand picked up my Z51 from North Carolina and delivered it to me at my driveway here in Cleveland. Great communication, status updates along the way, and plenty of pictures were sent along the journey. Rand treated my car with white gloves as if it was his own baby. I'd recommend him to anyone, and he was very reasonably priced. Couldn't have worked with a better person. I follow him on Facebook, and just saw that he was picking up a new Vette from Kerbeck a week or so back. He lives in New York but services all over the east coast, so I suspect this is a very common pickup point for him.

900 miles in an enclosed transport from a "premium" carrier should cost $1.00 to $1.35 per mile, so you're looking at about $900 to $1200.

As others have stated, it's a car and will be exposed to road conditions in the future.

Yes, the new C7 is now your baby and you want it delivered in pristine condition, but over time, the C7 will be subjected to road debris, dirt, rain etc. It's just part of the owning a car.

I agree with the other posters, drive the C7 home. You will really enjoy the ride, and save $$.

If $$ is no object, have it transported by a small carrier that will provide personal service and transport 1 car only. They will also deliver your C7 direct to your door.

In my ownership of premium sports cars, I always had them delivered/transported open carrier without any problems at all.

You will have absolutely NO problems finding a carrier for this route NJ to GA. That route is a main route for many auto transports. You should be to get plenty of competitive bids or quotes.

Best to you on the transport.

..

We bought ours in Pennsylvania on June 30, drove to south west Florida then home to S/W Montana by way of Bowling Green, hit a couple of nasty thunderstorms with hail and the works.
4000 miles in all, Not a mark on the car and had a good time,I would drive it.

my 2 cents,Mike

We use Intercity Lines and have been working with them for years in transporting our Corvettes to customers.

They transport everything from rare, classic collectibles, to multi-million dollar exotics.

This might sound odd but you have to be within one of their lanes as well. Meaning if you live out somewhere you may be SOL on some companies because it will be out of their way and they will make less money on you. I had a problem with a broker 7 years ago because of this issue. Ended up just having my dad drive the damn car out. I have heard the good, the bad, and the ugly with shippers.

Montway shipped my 14 C7 vert enclosed from Kerbeck to LA in one week for $1,600. I was very happy with the experience. Bowling Green-La Crescenta, CA: 2,067 miles= $0.77/mi. PM me if you're interested in specifics.

Another vote for Intercity. I could not be more pleased. Also, I'm out in the middle of nowhere and my location was not even mentioned as a concern.

Intercity gets my vote. If it were me, I'd drive. Good luck.
