The general public views cars as transportation. Only car enthusiasts notice and among them only Corvette enthusiasts can distingiush between the models.

I would think the widebody (GS and Z06) would be noticeable. To me they would be. And if I'm pulled up next to a supercharged vehicle I can hear the whine/whistle on take off.

To the average observer, they only notice the obvious; New Corvette, body color, interior color and the wheels.

I don't know about the C7, as I don't see many instances where both a base and a Z06 are seen together in order to evaluate the general public's reaction, but for the C6, the Z06 gathers much more attention than a base C6.

You would be surprised as to how many "regular" people know the difference between a base C6 and a Z06. They Know that a Z06 is "special".

Reminds me of when I drive my 1964 Coupe. When ever I'm stopped, people want to look at the car and ask me questions. Want to know what the number 1 question is? "Is that a split window coupe?".

They don't know what a split window coupe is, but they sure as hell have heard of it.

My C7Z gets a LOT of attention. Maybe it's the color (LBR), maybe the wide body, and maybe the Z06 emblems. My 91 YO mother in law saw it the other day on the road and commented to my wife that it really stands out.

Base model has the same engine and drive train.... can't really tell Z51 from external appearance... I did not need any of the extra $25,000 worth of options...
Z06 does look different, but did not really want the supercharger..

With the C6 there is a big visual difference b/n it and the widebody variants.

One of the pluses with the C7 is the Stingray looks hot in its own right, and there is less visual difference b/n it and the widebody. So a lot of the gen'l public just sees new Corvette.

I recently attended my first large weekly car show gathering and my Blade Silver Stingray 3LT w/5-Spoke Chrome Wheels (all stock - no mods - no splitter - no spoiler) was surrounded by a number of really nice Z06, Z51 C7's in brighter colors (Blue, Red, Yellow) with all the "goodies" and many mods.

I found it really interesting that on 3 separate occasions, I had people at the show come up to tell how much they liked my car and that it was their favorite C7 at the show... because of its color, clean lines, and "classy look" (not my words), as compared to the other "big and bright" (again, not my words) C7's at the show.

Just goes to show you... "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". --- The best thing about our C7's is that those of us who have them can color and configure them any way WE WANT, as the only "beholder" that's truly important is ourselves!

Your correct. Fair play. I forget to look and see what the software has done to my words before I submit. You would think I would have learned by now. I still know women who own and drive Corvettes. I also appreciate the base model C7.

Default All the same

Got asked several times by different people that they saw me come into our parking garage and it was a yellow C6 Z06 compared to my yellow Z51 C7. They just know it's a corvette.
