I have put some sections of CF wrap and it looks very good. Replacing the base console with a CF one seems to me a waste of time and money. Why risk for potential rattle and breakage? I have wrapped with CF tape the door sills and then covered with the clear protector and it looks fantastic. Much better solution's, cost is about $ 20 and can be removed if you do not like it.
That's looks nowhere near as good as the OEM option IMO.

Why? Because some can tell the difference between real hair and a bad toupee.
And....it's not always about cost.

I really hope this thread can help anyone who is unsure of taking it on themselves. It really is an easy job to do. All you have to do is take your time and be patient.
I've done this once. I wish I had documented it like this. Great job.
wow, it's only $550? I expected 3x that. If I can sell my boring 1LT for even $100, that makes this a pretty cheap mod. On my to-do list! edit: and I could HUD, right?
Adding a HUD to a 1LT I'm sure is quite a process. I thought someone on the forum was attempting it, but I'm not 100% on that.
Thanks to Paul's excellent instructions, I was able to complete the task in under 3 hours of actual labor. All of the screws were easily accessed and all of the clips came off without incident. I also installed a CF center console while I was at it. The hardest part was disconnecting the wiring harnesses behind the dash and transferring electrical modules to the new dash. As a side note, what caused me the most grief was finding the right security bit to remove the AC controls. I bought a 100-piece security bit set from Harbor Freight thinking it would include the bit I needed. Wrong. The bit you need is a 5-point T20 torx security bit (mostly used in automotive applications). They are not generally available at hardware stores so after an afternoon of searching, I finally found one at Pep Boys. Anyway, here's the result:

Question, is it possible to reach under the dash and replace just the start button without removing the whole dash? I really like that silver start button.

No, that's why I updated my start button at the same time. Best of luck on it!
I installed one in my 2014. I sold the original dash panel so did not have it available to remove before I traded it in on my 2017. I already purchased and installed the CF dash in my 2017 ... It is so MUCH easier the second time that I didn't even need directions... pretty sure I had it done in about 1 hour. If you have a convertible the top button is tough to disconnect .. so I just left it connected and passed the entire HUD bezel through the opening to remove the dash. Pass it back through to reinstall.
Also .. if you want more of a Semi Gloss effect ... buy the Matte Version and then polish it before you install. I was tempted to buy the high gloss version but decided not to in case it was too shiny in the convertible. Polishing out the matte version to a semi gloss is perfect. Here is pic .. I also polished the CF steering wheel cap I bought to match my competition seats ...
