Do you think more drivers cut you off or are otherwise rude, when you are in your vette? This has been happening to me so much lately that I'm questioning whether it is random.
Yesterday I was driving the speed limit, there were no cars behind me, and a car at a produce stand across the street cut me off, then slammed on its brakes to make an immediate right hand turn. The car couldn't have waited until I passed?!? This was the worst example from yesterday, but I counted at least six similar instances over the course of the day.
It's not random. Happens all the time. Sometimes I think there's a sign on the rear of the Vette that reads "please tailgate me". Until it becomes legal to shoot them I guess we'll just have to live with them..
The only difference I notice from my DD to my Vette is the noticeable increase of tailgaters behind my Vette.
I'm thinking I should get the vanity plate TAILGTE or TGATE ME.
You have a car capable of almost 200 mph, tailgaters shouldn't be a problem. Most of the time a slight increase in speed (5 mph) will solve the problem.
I think you notice and pay more attention to these idiots when you are driving your Vette. Bottom line is they are out there no matter what you are driving.
The only thing I notice different is that when I am in town on the freeway quite often cars behind me seem to be trailing me farther behind in all three lanes as if they are either afraid to get to close, or want a longer range view than normal. In my junker I never get that.
I find the opposite. I typically get more respect and attention.
^ I agree. Seems like more people hang back either to admire the car or because they'll look silly passing it up. I usually hang back a bit when pulling up to a stop lights and more times than not people will hang back even further so they can look at the car.
Driving from Orange County to Las Vegas yesterday I was surrounded by knuckleheads the whole drive. The guy that thinks he can make it in 2 hours weaving in and out of each lane just barely clearing each bumper. Then the idiot going 55 mph in the fast lane and is oblivious to the world when everyone else is doing 75 mph. Then of coarse the tailgaters, lets not forget about these tools. I just can't wait to do it all over again on the 4 hour drive home on Tuesday.

More than ever it's a me first world. Very selfish people who have no consideration for their fellow citizens, I see this type of driving behavior every day regardless of the car I'm driving.
I've had a few times when some smarta$$ thinks it would be funny to crowd my back bumper on the Vette at a stop light. I also had someone give me the finger for absolutely no reason. Besides that, I have the same issues mentioned here with either my DD or Vette. Mostly tailgaters that have no concept of simple physics. After my wife suffered two hit and runs at the beginning of the year where the hitter was never charged, I've since put dashcams in all the cars.

I have deft noticed a higher amount of tailgaters...I hardly ever noticed in my C4 or C6, but the C7 is like a magnet. Sometimes I speed up just to see if they stay behind me and then I see them back off. Going from 65 to 90 in a couple seconds usually does the trick.
Happens all the time no matter what kind of car you are driving. I expect it, most of the time I'm not disappointed!
Exactly, I see it all the time regardless if I'm in my C7 or the Mini Cooper S. Surprisingly I can usually call it out loud to my wife before it happens.
Idiots abound regardless of what you are piloting.

I'm sure you meant to say "passing lane" and not "fast lane" .

It's hard for me to say whether other drivers are more or less rude when I'm in the c7, but I would lean toward less rude. (Maybe the black on black with tinted windows helps?) But as far as tailgating goes, keep in mind that we sit really far back in the c7 -- there's not much distance between you and the rear of your car. So cars might seem like they're tailgating more. When I back up to something using the camera, so I can get close, it seems like whatever I'm backing up to is halfway in the car.
