I find it a bit ironic that people who put Z06 grills, and Z06 tail lights, and Z06 side skirts and Z06 spoilers, and Z06 splitters on their Stingrays are so critical of someone who is interested in putting hash marks on his Stingray because "they only belong on a Grand Sport". Come on and get real would you. It's his car let and if that's what he likes then so be it.

It's your car do what floats your boat!
For me...the hash marks look to busy and take away from the clean looks of side fender vents.

Oh, get over yourself! Carrying a discussion "to the absurd" is to point out the absurdity, that's all. OF COURSE he can "DO WHAT HE WANTS, BY GOD!" because it's HIS CAR and this is Murica! Duh!
Sheesh! Of course it is. He can paint it paisley, put starship Enterprise stickers or "Go Bernie!" all over it, make it look like a Blue Angel F/A-18, glue watermelons on it or do whatever the hell he wants. No problem!

But the GUY ASKED and guess what? Nor everyone thinks it's a cool idea. And just because someone else doesn't share YOUR opinion that he "can do what he wants" is no reason to start flinging names all over the place. Talk about "narrow minded." Get a grip!

Actually, I don't see anywhere in the OP's posts that he asked for opinions on whether or not to put them on his car. All I see is requests for info on vendors, quality of the product, and ease of installation.

And let's not forget the replica Z06 wheels, don't hear anybody saying they should only be on Z06

Maybe you need to re-read both the original post and mine. OP never asked for opinions.

As far as name calling, pointing out behavior that illustrates the stereotypical Corvette owner isn't name calling, simply calling out narrow mindedness of way too many people on this board.

Exactly. I stand by my post as it plays out on a regular basis here, be it ignorant discussions on AT vs. MT or the all encompassing chrome wheel debate. There are a lot of people that are way too insecure with their car purchases.

Embrace the diversity of cars here.

I am old school and favor bone stock but I must admit the stripes do look good.

I agree that you should do whatever you like to your car. Personally I wouldn't put the hashes on anything but a Grand Sport. Tail lights, grills, spoilers, etc that people swap are just different versions on different cars. No big deal to exchange, especially if it's for a performance gain and not just looks.

But the hash marks are iconically a Grand Sport identifier used by the factory for several generations of just Grand Sports. A branding if you will. That would be like actually putting a Z06 badge on a Stingray, which I'm sure most of you would agree is just wrong.

Agreed! At the end of the day do as you want. IMO, The hash marks only belong on a 1996 Grand Sport (and maybe the 2017 heritage GS). I would never put them on my new Zo6, nor would I peel them off of my 1996 GS (as many people did in 1996). I rate this with the people who think they need a big block stinger hood on a 1967 327 car just because it's cool and not for Mechanical purpose.

I would bet on most people not even understanding what the purpose of the hash marks are for. Before you stick something on your car,
research "history of racing hash marks". Then go read a book on Corvette history and Zora Arkus-Duntov.

Do you what you want, period. Vettestripes, VetteFX and CorvetteMods have them and I am looking for vinyl blackouts so I am interested to hear opinions from others as well so I can I have a better idea of where to get mine.

And why do some assume that someone has "payments" on a Vette?
