Default Upshift light?

I picked up my car from a service appointment, and I noticed that my tach glowed yellow at the time to upshift. Never saw that before. I fiddled with some settings, and it's gone and I can't figure out how to get it back. How do I get it back???

That only shows up when the engine needs to be warmed up as a warning to you not to overrrev the engine when cold. If you want constant shift lights, put your HUD into track mode and you'll get the shift dots.

This.

It also has the lower RPM limit and yellow glow during the first 500 miles to remind you to keep revs down during break in.

OP is not talking about the constant yellow circle that appears during break in and cold starts and is accompanied by a lower rpm red line, he's talking about a warning light, circled around the tach, when rpms quickly exceed about 3k. I've seen it many times and it mostly shows up during hard accelerations in first and second. It seems to be a warning that you're quickly accelerating toward the red line. Simply exceeding 3k doesn't trigger it, you must accelerate quickly. Since it appears at around 3k rpm it doesn't seem to be a shift now signal. Here's a video of it. In the video it only shows once, in first gear. The engine is hot, you can see the oil temp is 200 degrees, redline is 6500. Sorry for the poor quality video.

Thanks to Frodo for posting the video clip and I have seen this yellow band a few times also under hard acceleration in the lower gears.

And Frodo I am very jealous of the great driving roads in your area. Eastern TN is my favorite place in the U.S. and I go down there as often as possible. It is an absolutely beautiful area.

That's the light I was thinking of, but I've only seen it when the engine is cold. You might be right about it only showing up under hard acceleration, but when I'm accelerating hard, I'm looking at the HUD not the dash.

The light appears trying to tell you that it'd be a good time to shift now. You see it when accelerating quickly and often when the engine is cold because the "redline" is lower. Even more pronounced in Track Mode where two lines of circular dots converge on each other towards the middle - again indicating when it would be a good time to shift.
