Thanks for creating this section for enthusiasts. Living in MI, I am close with many on the Camaro team, so my Camaro questions regarding my 1LE are always answered. But didn't know who to ask about my new vette.
I have a 16 vette, just picked it up brand new. Along the top edge of the windshield, there are visible bubbles in the glass. I'm sure this can be taken care of under warranty, but would LOVE to have an unmolested, original factory built car. With this in mind, I've asked on the general forum and got various opinions. Are these bubbles just cosmetic? Will they get worse over time? Is it possible that the top seal was not glued on properly and can be reordered and reglued to sit a bit lower covering the bubbles? Again, would love to avoid ripping the windshield out of my brand new car to replace it. Here's a photo. Thanks.
I'm no pro, but to me it looks defective. I'd probably opt to have them swap it out. I have an outstanding dealer to go to though, so I guess that's up to you and your comfort level. I would at the very least bring it in and point it out, you certainly don't want it to end up leaking or have some other problem. Good luck!

Recommend you get it replaced under warranty. The glass is a sandwich of glass, a material layer binder and glass that are laminated together under heat. It is what makes the ws safety glass. The bubbles could represent that the laminated pieces are separating.
Not good.
I had mi e replaced due to a large crack. It was first changed with a non-OEM that had the same problem. I refused to accept it and out came an OEM glass that didn't have this problem.
I spent the first 2 weeks of September in Italy. Returned and backed my Z06 out of the garage to wash it. As I walked around the front I saw something on the upper right corner of the windshield. A half circle crack, but no rock chips, hmm. I then realized the crack was on the inside. Similar to post #5. Car was a year old in July. Took it to the dealer and service manager looked at it and ordered a new windshield. I see others on this forum have had the exact same thing with their C7's. Haven't figured out how a windshield could crack on the inside while the car is sitting still in the garage.

I have been saying all along the C7 is a great car on paper, but it's only as good as it's cheap cut rate parts. Really sad and very noticeable on this 7th generation car.

Same issue with my 2016 C7. Small bubbles on top edge of windshield. Had the car only a month and just noticed it yesterday.

You hit the nail right on the head. C7 problems are unbelievable. Yet some are in denial.
The windshield in my 2015 coupe is like the one pictured. I went to my dealer this morning, and they said it is defective. A new windshield is now on order for my car.
Not quite the same as you but still being replaced by dealer under warranty. Just over year old. Sux, but what can you do but change it out.
I had the same this happen to mine. Warranty replacement, no problem. OP, I would definitely take yours back and have them order a new windshield for you.
Thanks everyone. I'm still very hesitant to have anyone touch it. Will decide next spring. For those with GM cheapness complaints, I appreciate your passion to take the time to tell us that our cars are pieces of crap, but that doesn't help answer my original question. Wanted a vette for a long time, got one. Windshield bubbles aren't going to make me hate the car
I had the same bubbles in the windshield. The dealer ordered a new windshield under my warranty. The new windshield cam in with the same problem. Thy had the GM Rep look into this, it seems that its a manufacturing defect. The reordered the glass and the new one came in perfect.
And here I thought I was the only one with that problem.

Did your bubbles look like this? This is my replacement windshield from dealer installed today. It almost looks like it was meant to be that way but I'm not sure. They really are not bubbles but not sure what to think but I'm going to go with it.

Since your photo is too far away I can't tell. I didn't take a photo of mine...i guess I should have. But mine looked like the photo that was i the first post on this thread. It looked like the windshield was delaminating.
Can you take another photo that's a closeup?

Looks like I have it on my 2015. Can those that have had it replaced under warranty give details on where it was done and what the specific defect was noted to cause a replacement.
