Default Trans temp

The trans temp on my car never gets above 120* in around the valley driving (start/stop on city/county roads) with top speed approx 50 mph. Trans is an 8 spd and I alternate between Manual and Drive modes. How are your transmissions temp wise?

Neither does mine. Even when I drove through the Mojave Desert it never got hotter than 130 degrees.

Not sure since I have M7, but with a little time to kill, I thought I'd poke around a bit. Rather than populate your thread with a bunch of links, thought I'd simply supply my search criteria: "Corvette C7, A8, operating temp". You'll see a variety of responses and hopefully will have a better feel for where yours oughta be. Lastly, drive it like you stole it.

Mine does not get above 130 degrees either. Good to hear that seems normal.

Temperature is not a problem until you really push the car, like on a track.

Those charts are meaningless.

It will get much hotter on a track especially in Manual mode using the paddles to up and downshift in turns.

Want to see your trans temp raise? Do some rev matching downshifts.
When I drive in my small town I down shift a lot with the paddles (love the way it sounds) and you can watch the trans temps raise in just a few minutes.

I saw temps approaching 220 on the track at VIR in August.

I'll be at 275 in under 15 minutes, in manual mode, regardless of the temperature (mine is a 2015).
