Default STILL getting comments

I purchased my AW vert in March of 2014. This makes my C7 over 2.5 years old and I STILL receive amazingly positive comments whenever I take the car out.

Just yesterday, a beautiful day on Fort Jackson in South Carolina, as I drove past a large crowd of family members there to watch their new soldiers graduate from basic training, I saw more than half the people in the crowd point to my 'Vette with big smiles, thumbs up, and telling each other "look at that car!" "Did you see that?!", and "I want one of those!"

A few moments later, while stopped at a traffic control point, the MP pointed right at me and exclaimed, "I am impounding that 'Vette!" I asked "what for?", and laughing, he replied, "That car is guilty of being gorgeous in a no-gorgeous zone!"

An hour later, while driving home, I passed a road construction site, and the flagman yelled out, "I love that car!!"

In a large way, I just don't get it. These C7s have been out for three years. There are tens of thousands of them on the road. One would think people would be sort of tired of these cars by now...

It is amazing. From 8 to 80 people love these C7's. We just got back from a 20 day road trip, and each day someone commented or wanted to talk about the car.

GM hit it out of the park with the C7. After 1.5 years of daily driving, I still get a waive or a nod or a shout out at least weekly. Heck, a homeless panhandler at the gas station on Monday gave me a big grin and thumbs up, before he asked for my change.

One of my best friends fawns over my car every time she sees it. She says it is one of the sexiest cars she's ever seen in person. I have to agree.

I live in an area with plenty of 'vettes of all vintages and I still get smiles and extra looks. I get the most with the roof off especially from motorcycles.

Why? I think people are predisposed to like Corvettes as Americas Sports Car, the open roof or better the convertible makes it easy to see and relate to the driver, and the C7 looks fantastic.

My C6 got attention and drew comments but nothing like my '15 Stingray. As nice as the C6 is, the C7 has a much more exotic look (and sound) to it.

Like the C6 I'm sure the comments will lessen as the C7 gets older, but after 9 years my C6 still drew attention from time to time.

After almost 50 years, my C2 still draws a lot of attention.

My AW C6 GS got more attention than my VY C7, kind of glad actually. Heck I saw my old GS driving around one day and I was just in amazement at how awesome it looked. AW has that effect!

Sweet looking ride my friend!

Not sure what an "AW" is but when I went to a cruise in today in VB, they asked if the paint was still wet. Maybe I have been spending way to much time in the garage watching Velocity and cleaning my car. How can you not love a Corvette. Yes indeed we are really lucky people.

You just don't see a lot of C7s out and about. I'm in Dallas, Texas, and I do not see them too often. They're quite the novelty - still!

"AW" = Arctic White, exterior C7.
