Hood vent?
Does anyone know if all the hood vents are the same?
Is a base hood vent the same as a Grand Sport?
and if so is there only one white?
I would like to order a white vent for my car to match the stripe that is being added and a fellow member was nice enough to give me the VIN off of his car which came with a white vent. I can use his VIN to order a vent for my car If I'm sure it will be correct. I can have mine painted but I would like to keep the original as is as a backup in case I decide I don't like the stripe someday.

The GS and base both have the same hood and therefore, the same vent. The Z06 has a bigger vent on the hood.
I am not sure about the options to paint them from the factory, but certainly people have done it after purchase.

Just looked at the "Cultrag" website and they only show one vent for $145 for non ZO6 models. Since they only show one item, I have to assume that it is not painted any color, just primed and ready for paint.

I was told if you get it from a dealer they ask for your vin and you will get whatever came on your car. Being i want white i figured i would give then them someone elses vin that has a white vent. I just need to be sure it would be the same.

Body color vents are an option from the factory. I don't know for certain, but usually you can't order body parts pre-painted and they come ready to paint. That said your idea is a good one and I'd give it a try.

This is correct however I'm having the stripe added tomorrow and my vent is Carbon flash. If I don't like the way it looks I will try to Plasti dip it if this doesn't look good I will either order a new painted vent or I will have mine painted. I would prefer to keep the original one as is in case I decide to remove the stripe someday.

This seems like my best option if the Plasti dip is a failure. I think if the color is close this may workout well. I have used this on another project on my boat and it worked out great it is far more durable then I expected.
