Getting on it in Sport Mode, won't shift?
When I get on my car in sport mode, it won't shift gears. I think someone said, that the car will automatically go into the paddleshift manual mode and I'll have to shift with the paddles? Anyone know about this?

I don't have an auto but that doesn't sound right. Are you in Drive?

Based on his first three posts here I'll go out on a limb and say the OP hasn't bothered reading anything in the Owner's Manual.

Has nothing to do with what mode you are in. You have to be in "D" for drive for it to shift automatically.

if the transmission is in "D" it makes no difference what your setting is, it should be shifting automatically.
You can use the paddles while in "D", but the transmission will revert to automatic shift after an interval.

Is this happening when you get on the gas while in Sport (Track also)? If so it is Performance Shift Mode. If you hit the gas and then let off the computer will hold the gear for a few seconds because it thinks you are on a track. It will downshift after a few seconds.

Ah, after Poltergeist's post, I finally understand what the heck the OP is asking about.
Obviously, the car is shifting, but it's holding a lower gear longer in sport mode because when you nail the throttle it is programmed to accelerate faster.
Don't take it to the dealer, it's normal and will be another unnecessary ding on the CR reliability record . . . LOL (sorry, kidding about another thread).

ok, that makes total sense, I've never tried it in Track mode. I've heard there is no real reason to use track mode. Other than when I occationally get on it, I drive like an old lady. Thanks for the imput. Happy New Year!

Owners manuals are for people who don't know how to use the internet.
If you hold the upshift paddle for a few seconds it will take it out of performance shift mode and leave you back in the standard drive mode. At least that's the case with my A6.
You will find a lot of things that surprise you the first time but are quite normal. After a while everything starts to make sense and you really get to appreciate them.
Have fun figuring it all out!

The C7 is the first car I have owned since 1961 that required me to memorize the owner's manual. The differences you can get in the various driving modes along with HUD, Instrument Panel Selection make it necessary.
