Attempting to put a toll tag on a 2017 Grand Sport Coupe 3LT with a Performance Monitor (PM) which is part of the 3LT package. I've noted that the PM camera's view is blocked by normal center line placement of the decal. Moving it nearer the driver's side, it ends up slightly in front of what looks like ventilation slots in the rear view mirror hub area. I have no idea of the slots purpose so I don't think putting the toll tag in front of that area will impact anything but thought I would check. Moving the tag way over to the passenger's side is out due to directions from god (aka wife who is the true owner). The black window mask really pushes the decal low which makes it slightly visible from the driver's seat but I wasn't consulted in the GS's design. I don't think placing the decal in the lower right hand side of the window is allowed by the Texas Toll Tag authorities so don't ask me about the front license plate either.
We put ours just to the drivers left of the PDR camera and a little lower than the black third visor. I haven't checked the PDR. I may have blocked a tad. Just go left of the camera and below. I can't see the tag from inside the car.
Do you know how wide angle the lens is in relation to the fenders?
Do you have a tag or sticker?
I have a NTTA sticker and I slid it under the shroud behind the mirror. I left just enough of sticker showing to be able to pull out with tweezers. Works great and can't be seen from inside or out. I'm out of town till 1/3/17. When I get home I'll post pics.
NTTA tag here. Do you tweeze it out whenever you need it?
No, works great behind the black part of windshield. Don't pull backing off sticker. It will slide in on the drivers side from the front. It took me a while to find where it will slide in but once I did it just goes right in. I left it where I could get it with tweezers in case I needed to take out for some reason.

I can't visualize this. When you have time, could you post a picture. .?

Is the NTTA sticker an RFID type? If so is it successfully interrogated by the NTTA system? The Texas EZ Tag is an RFID type interrogated by toll booth system but should work behind the windshield black mask unless there is some RF scheme to the windshield mask like in the days when the FM antenna was integral with the windshield mask. Sliding the tag under the rear view mirror equipment hub behind the windshield mask still leaves one inch of the tag visible. The windshield black mask alone is 6 inches at the windshield centerline and the EZ Tag is 2 inches high and 2.75 inches wide. I can only get ~ one inch of the tag slid into the Performance Monitor's (rear view mirror) equipment hub or whatever you want to call it. However, the one inch of the tag that is still visible from the outside doesn't block the PM camera nor the driver's view and luckily this is the part of the EZ Tag with the bar code which should probably be visible from the outside. So I think slipping the entire tag under the mask sounds like a good idea. I will see if the tag isn't successfully interrogated by the toll booth system since the toll charge shows up immediately after use in the toll tag account. In Harris County one is allowed three tag interrogation failures before being ticketed and some parts of the Texas toll system actually send you a bill if you blow thru the toll booth. I will have to assume that the three slit areas in the PM equipment bay are only for ventilation. Sure wish the owner's manual would explain it to me since I have yet to see the availability of a shop manual for any C7 beyond 2015 and none at all for the Grand Sport.
In north Texas you don't need to post the toll tag at all. If your license plate matches the car/motorcycle and account then you get the cheap rate that is debited to a charge card backed account monthly. Works on my two motorcycles as well. I have not actually put tags on my last 4 vehicles with zero issues. Carry on...
