Brough my 2014 non Z51 to have an oil/filter service. After service completed, started engine to check for leaks, then turned engine off. Got out of car and went to office and paid. Returned to car noticed rear tail lights on. After entering car noticed speedometer and gauges powered up as if the ignition was turned on. Tried to start car several times but no ignition and also could not turn off power to gauges or headlights. Called onstar and was referred to a Corvette representive and told him the problem. He decided to send over someone familiar with Corvettes with a battery charger. While waiting, I continued to try and start it several more times. After pressing the starter button around 10 times it started and drove it home. Have no idea what caused this no start problem. Since its raining today will see if the "no start problem" has cleared up tomorrow . I wonder if a code was initiated.

WE had the same problem on a 2014 and the best one was in the middle of a rain storm at Carlisle and it wouldn't start. Finally after many attempts it started and then the guessing game began every time we went somewhere. We never did figure out what the problem was and hesitated to take it on long trips again. I guess it wasn't one of the perfect ones because that was the start of many other problems.
All of electronics on new vehicles will be an absolute problem for the people who own them when they are older. New car glitches evolve into old car nightmares.
My C6 does this sometimes. This is the way I get mine to start again. Foot off brake and clutch. Open door, close, foot on brake and clutch again. Starts. Its like it has to recognize you getting in again.
Well, the 2014s are coming on (or passing) three years.
Even though the C7s don't have anywhere near the parasitic draw that the C6s have, my guess is that when the battery is starting to fail, there will be many wonky behaviors starting to show up, and we may just be starting to see what new strange things the C7 will do as our batteries age.
On the C6, the minute any odd behavior started happening, I replace the car battery, and that has always solved the problem ( I did this three days ago for my '05). When , and I say when not if) this happens on my '14, I will replace the battery sooner rather than later.

Hi ETHYL,
We see you were experiencing concerns with your starter button a few weeks ago. Should this happen in the future, feel free to send us a message. We are happy to look into this further on our end!
I just had somewhat the same issue. I charged the battery and pretty sure that took care of it for me. You may want to try that or check it out. Good Luck
My 14 Z51 vert battery failed at the 2 year mark. Started getting some weird things show up on the dash, next day no start so I charged the battery, good for 1 day and battery was dead. Had it replaced under warranty and everything is good.

I drove it several days later for a few miles then returned home. Shut engine off, waited a few minutes and then pressed the start button. It started up OK, however I made an appointment at the Dealer next week to have it checked out by the Corvette tech.
