Due to a change in my work schedule my company now requires me to come in 3 days a week. So now I have to leave at 5AM. I have a 2016 C7 Stingray base A8 no Z51 coupe.
What I will need to do is push it out of the garage, steer a slight right turn to get to the street before I start it in Stealth mode. A rolling non powered coast to a stop of about 50 feet. Trying to be a good neighbor in this townhouse neighborhood!
Anyone see any issues with rolling it to a stop before I start it?
Only issue I would see, is if your driveway is on an incline..... you can't push it out of the garage, and then hop in it if it's moving down the driveway ..... safely
You'll need to hit the starter button with your foot OFF of the gas to get it so you can shift into neutral when in your garage.
Thanks Strake, my driveway has a slight down hill so what I do is I sit in the car and push it out with my left foot for a couple of feet. As soon as it rolls off the garage floor lip it goes down hill and I'm good. I do all the pushing sitting in the car.
I prefer the good neighbor thing as I never want to be "that" guy driving a Corvette!
About a month ago I was pushing my Moto Guzzi V7 Racer motorcycle down the block on a Saturday at 5AM to the boulevard for an early breakfast with friends. Wearing my GP leathers et al, the police pulled up, treated me like a criminal and muttered, "never really liked them Chinese bikes."

It's not like people's windows are open.
Just start it in the garage and exit the garage as quickly as you can but I sure wouldn't go through the hassle your describing.
These cars are not that loud.

Why not start it in the garage with the door closed. It will fairly quickly idle down and you hit the opener and sneak on out in stealth mode. Shouldn't be a problem, unless you have people sleeping above your garage???
Thanks for being such a good neighbor. Unfortunately my neighbor across the street has a thump-er Harley and comes home from his summer evening rides at 11/11:30pm and has to hit it at least 2 or three times before he shuts it down. I leave the house at 4:45am for work and always start in "track mode" just to return the compliment There is a lot to say for living out in the country as I did when living in GA.
Again: JUDO'S for being a good neighbor.
In stealth mode its barely louder than 90% of cars on the road if any louder at all. I would just start up and go as normal. The lights are likely to be more bothersom than the exhaust.
Put it in stealth mode when you pull out of the garage and don't give it much gas and problem solved. No offense but you can't really be serious about pushing the car out of the driveway into a 50 ft. rolling coast.

Crap someone had turn me in to the cops last year in the c5. Cop finally got me gave me a ticket for doing really 33 mph in a 30 zone. He told me had been looking for a red corvette for almost a month. I got out of the ticket plus I don't go to work until 7:30 a.m. Robert

Kudos for being a thoughtful neighbor
One day at the marina I watched a guy back his 30 ft. boat out of his slip. The boat drifted in reverse to the main dock. He then jumped onto the main dock to hold the boat from hitting the dock, rotated his boat 90 degrees, pushed the boat out and then made a 4 foot leap onto his boat. Lucky he made the leap!
Don't be that guy in your corvette.
But, you are a considerate neighbour. Want to move to Sudbury?
John
You're a better man than me!! I have a set of ARH headers and Borla X pipe and I live in a tow home. I leave at 530 am and she shakes the whole unit when I start her. I will at least idle out of the complex but man that first start up is loud!!
I leave at 4:30 every morning and start the car with the garage door closed, switch the NPP off, open the door and slowly back out and drive away. I have never gotten a complaint or comment from any of my neighbors and our homes are pretty close together. In fact, one day, my retired next door neighbor saw me leaving for work and later asked me if I always leave that early because he never hears my car.
