A friend let me drive his ZO6 last night....thoughts compared to my Stingray

Advanced
The Grand Sport has the Z's grip according to mag reviews.

I think I can answer this. I suspect it's due to the very wide front tires, but when you roll over seams in pavement etc.. that are sorta parallel to your direction of travel, there's a kind of a feel that the seam is trying to grab you and toss you into the next lane or something. It's a false perception that manifests as a little "tug" on the wheel when you cross those road features. You tend to feel it a lot at highway speed. When you're driving like a ... well ... when you're being a little exuberant, I've found that tends to go away and is replaced with really good feedback at higher speeds.
It's not the steering system; it's a characteristic of the tires.
I've seen this kind of thing much MUCH worse in many cars I've owned in the past.
IMO, the Z isn't too bad by comparison.

Melting Slicks
Left in touring mode, the steering is too light for my liking. The twitchy comment comes from the Z06's tendency to trammel (follow road imperfections), a light steering wheel and willingness to turn in. If you're use to: a heavier steering wheel (CTS-V), a car with a less than stellar turn-in (CTS-V), and an overall heavier car (you guessed it) - then the Z06 feels twitchy.
it's an easy solution for me, just drive the car with the steering in track mode and dial back the steering wheel inputs 30% from what I'm use to.

How is that possible?
AFAIK, Edelbrock isn't associated with GM.

FWIW, I just don't find the steering to be "twitchy."
I would consider it to be direct.
Not as much as a Ferrari 458, but pretty darn good nonetheless.
