really? why? there is no chrome anywhere else on the car except for the gs emblems which just didn't seem to go with the rest of the color scheme.

i think it is fine ether way. I personally like the contrast and since the original was chrome with red, just replacing the red with blue seems to me to be more consistent. But honestly it looks good and both are great. Take a look at Russ’s with the chrome and blue.

Wow, that looks fantastic. I was thinking doing just SPORT but now I'm not sure. Russ, I haven't received my order yet. Have you shipped it?

Here's my result with just the "SPORT". MUCH MUCH Better than the red!

Overall not bad installing the overlays, though the "R" overlay wanted to be a bee-otch placing it just right!

Yea, it is nice that people have options and can do what they like. Personally I like the two color look, can't wait to get rid of the red. I have to take mine to my XPel dealer as that area is covered and will be when done.

I would suggest to anyone doing this that they consider at least getting XPel over the sill, it will help that decal to last longer.

Phil, yes yours went out. I sent out all of them the day after paying, but yours was the next day, as I was extremely exhausted from work that day and came home and just crashed. You should have it any day, I would think. If not by now.

Before and after (the "P" was a nightmare). Also decided to do something with the license plate frame.

How did you get the matching color on your plate? I bought the standard GS plate and thinking to go Home Depot to get the matching paint? Anyone has done the matching tension blue paint from HD or Lowes?

Got a plain black frame, bought the fender decals from Russ and just stuck them on.

Are you running those? I had seen poor reviews previously about them on this forum.

Russ, the overlays arrived and they look fantastic! Thank you.

I don't know what is involved in your process to create these overlays but I was thinking..... It would be cool to cover the sun visor warning labels. This was suggested in a previous post to do a GRAND SPORT overlay. Now that would be better that all the safety warnings but how about this; an overlay in tension blue that says GRAND SPORT COLLECTOR EDITION # XXX (your car's edition number). Yes specific art for each car. Is that out of the question?

Thank you again for what you have already done.

I've always thought those hard plastic overlays make it look like you're trying a bit too hard since they are so obviously there.

I thought about doing the Xpel route like you did, but feel like the finish of the film would take away from the original finish of the sill plate, whether you do gloss or matte film over top. I think I'll go with them as-is and see how well they hold up. Bought a spare set to have on hand if needed.

the hard plastic just looks cheesy to me. The xpel film i would like to see installed first. Since its not a smooth surface, there will be some air pockets around all the raised pieces and there are a lot on the sills. Still better than nothing. My car has 350 miles on it and the door sills up close I can see scratches and ****.
