Finally got around to installing my carbon fiber diffuser from forum vendor, WeaponX. I was a bit apprehensive because of the inflexibility of carbon fiber but tackled the job myself anyway after my local dealership turned me down. Their reason was that they have never installed an aftermarket diffuser before. They quoted me 6 hours install time over the phone, then 4 when I showed up at the appointment and before he saw it, and then 7 when he did actually see it. I knew right then I was better off doing it myself. The install took me under 4 hours because, as the instructions say, you do have to take off your entire back bumper cover off.
I want to give a shout-out to Ben at WeaponX for his responsive communication to every single email and question that I had. All who have seen it on the car have raved about it. Pictures DO NOT do it any justice as it's been pretty cloudy here lately. It is absolutely beautiful in person.
Very glad you got it on Paul! You really did a great job might I add
The Stingray looks amazing too, I've already added them to the website!

If I may ask ??? Is there a special purpose for these or are they just for looks ??? Do they help if you track your car or something ?? I've seen them on cars but have never understood what they were for.

Besides looking incredible and dressing up the rear of the car, it has function.
Per Wikipedia:
"A diffuser, in an automotive context, is a shaped section of the car underbody which improves the car's aerodynamic properties by enhancing the transition between the high-velocity airflow underneath the car and the much slower freestream airflow of the ambient atmosphere.
When a diffuser is used, the air flows into the underbody from the front of the car, accelerates and reduces pressure. There is a suction peak at the transition of the flat bottom and diffuser. The diffuser then eases this high velocity air back to normal velocity and also helps fill in the area behind the car making the whole underbody a more efficient downforce producing device by reducing drag on the car and increasing downforce. The diffuser also imparts upward momentum to the air which further increases downforce."
The Weapon X Diffuser does all of the above and IMO, adds considerably more character and interest to the back of the car. Folks in our Corvette Club constantly compliment how "bad ***" my Z looks following us on the road.

I'm right behind you Hawk. GTX skirts, APR Track V2 spoiler and Z06 grille are sitting in my garage... waiting for the Z06 Stage 2 splitter to arrive from C7.
You are tempting me now... I might have to get this diffuser to complete the look...
I had always planned on the WeaponX version as it is the best one out there with 4 blades instead of 2 like others have.
You have quite the project ahead of you. Your car is going to look insanely nicer once all the new parts are installed. The WeaponX diffuser is a beautiful piece. Ben is a great dude to buy from. Was very, very responsive to all my emails.
If you decide to buy the diffuser, I suggest installing it and the spoiler at the same time in order to avoid having to take the rear end off twice. Just my two cents. There's a boatload of screws and some trim that need to be removed. Save yourself the hassle from doing it twice.
