Have my 2017 Z51 Stingray in 1LT trim on order. Only 2LT trim I am doing without that I'd like to have is Front Curb-View Camera. I've searched other threads and not found my specific situation-question. Dealer says I can't buy GM parts to build an OEM setup so looking for an aftermarket camera that will hook up to the Vette's infotainment screen. Found one on line but it requires a factory screen "interface" which seems to be elusive. Any help out there?
Like your dealer stated, the OE camera will NOT work in the 1LT. Good luck with the aftermarket camera's, they probably will not work through our infotainment center..
NavTool works great. The initial process with the company last year was a headache. Installation is straightforward if you follow Elmer's thread. I use NavTool for the front camera view and for phone mirroring. The front view comes on automatically when you shift from reverse to forward, Norm

Check for a recent thread in which someone installed a front camera linked to a small screen inside the cubby. It had fairly detailed instructions, if I remember correctly.

I bought NavTool but haven't installed it yet.
I read that statement about coming on automagically when shifting from reverse to forward. If I'm pulling into a parking space, why would I shift into reverse just to activate the cam? I really would like the cam to come on when the car forward speed drops below 3 mph.
I think I can turn on the front cam holding the back button 3 seconds, right?

Yes, you are correct. You can turn it on that way. I usually find myself backing up first when in a parallel parking situation. If you have a wide open space to pull into, by all means just press the back button.
I installed Navtool on my 2015. I'd say it wasn't the easiest DIY I've ever done, but it is a splitter saver for sure. Also love that I can repeat(mirror) my iPhone too.
Here's a thread that was done about a Cheap Front Cam for guys that have 1LTs. I have done this modification and it made a REALLY good, inexpensive way to have a Front Curb Cam. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nt-camera.html

The factory installed camera system is excellent. You can turn alignment lines off or have them on just like the rear camera. There are so many extras included with the 2LT trim, I wouldn't think of not getting it.
Thanks to all for the valuable input. Found Elmer and his thread - Geezer's Navtool Installation. Looks very thorough. Here's something even better for those of us with less confidence in our aftermarket electronics skills. Best Buy tells me they'll install any system I bring them, including ones they don't sell, for $135. I'm in!

Just be careful... As a real aftermarket enthusiast and installer for a high end shop in my youth this would scare me a bit. I fixed a lot of those flat rate installs as a kid at our shop. They could have a great installer but I would think this is unlikely because private shops used to pay more.
Just a few things to think about:
Do they work on the car enough to disassemble with breaking things?
Because you are tapping into the cars electrical system you run the risk of the factory blaming this for any electrical issues, or infotainment display issues even with the magnuson moss act. Now this doesn't mean they would be right but I don't think it's worth the risk.
If the cameras are very important perhaps adjusting your order would be the best move if it's financially viable.
Good luck with either choice and enjoy the new ride.

My first C7 was an impulse buy and I grabbed the 1LT. After that my 15 and 17 have both been 2LT's. I get great use out of the added features personally.
For the 14 and 15s, Navtool is the way to go. It uses the NAV screen, it comes on automatically or manually (you control) and it cannot be seen. Once it is installed, it can be removed with minimum effort in 5 minutes and that would take it out of the warranty issue. The hard part is the wiring in the foot wells. If you do it yourself, it does NOT take an electrical degree nor does it require special tools other that a $29 set of plastic trim tools so you don't scratch stuff. it can be done in a couple of hours from scratch to completion. It looks daunting but it is simple if you follow the suggestions in the Geezer's thread.
I would not trust using Best Buy or something of that ilk, as the people doing the install may or MAY NOT have played with the newer Corvettes. GM does not leave stuff alone and changes stuff. If they break a TAB or connector, they will shrug and hide the issue. You will probably find it later as you chase a rattle, funny sound, or trim alignment issue.
If you physically can't do it, then you can choose using an installer. Who knows, you might get someone that knows what they are doing and you're all set!
I just got my Navtool yesterday. The install looks like it couldn't be any easier unless they were coming to do it. You don't even have to splice a single wire. I'll install this weekend. I don't want to drill for a side camera until i'm sure it works.

Thanks, Elmer. You convinced me to give it a whirl myself. Dealer tells me my new black vert is building next week. Trading in my red C6. Now gotta figure out how to change my username to something that works with whatever is in my garage.
Spoke to NavTool sales rep today. Buy now $300, next week $600, so he says. Maybe so , maybe not. Add $100 for the camera. Didn't pull the trigger. Will wait until my Vette delivers. Stay tuned.
