I am not sure what is taking place exactly. When I was out driving yesterday I was rounding a corner at about 1.0G and the car downshifted and reved up into lower gear. I wasn't pushing hard on the gas. I know something flashed on the DIC about performance, or something like that. I have experienced this often, as I pretty much push the car to its limits when cornering, etc. It flashed on the DIC, but I can't take my eyes off the road to see what it is specifically reading out. I read the manual, but it seemed that only a Z51 model on up to Z06 had this capability. What am I missing? Thanks. By the way, I usually drive in Track mode.

When in the twisties, and driving spirited, I've also had it happen a couple of time while in auto. I find manual mode to be a far better choice, and does not allow for that unexpected downshift that can send you sideways in the curves.
Best to stay out of the Sideways Society unless you're intentionally joining.
If you have Mag Shocks, you should have 5 PTM options in "Track" mode. Which setting do you typically use? This impacts the way the car responds to throttle inputs under cornering.

Mine doesn't have Mag shocks. As an aside. I didn't get the Mag shocks because the ride in my area of the country is too rough when in Track mode. Too many pot holes and rough surfaces. I like the Track mode performance without the rough ride. Although there is now a product from DSC Sport that will mitigate the the stiffer ride in Track mode. If that product was available when I bought mine I would have got the MSRC. I am ordering the product for a Z06 that I am in the process of buying. It's amazing.
Did it shift in the middle of the corner? Not sure i like that, if it shifts as you come out of the corner, that is fine. Disturbing the chasis at critical moments doesn't seem right to me, i agree it should hang i a lower gear but not a shift while in the corner.
With a Manual, you are totally in charge at all times.
