Tail Lights
Does anyone know why the C7 designers copied or simulated these ugly Camaro tail lights? That is the only part of the car I don't like. I realize it is subjective, but to be honest I'll bet there is a host of owners of the C7 that don't like them.

I agree, hate them have seen retro kit more like C6 but didn't like that either. IMO needed to stay round but with a more futuristic look, with LEDs anything is possible. If enough people express dislike who knows change may come.

I love the older style round tail lights too. At first I didn't like the new style but I believe the c7 is a much different car than previous Generations so with that comes the new style. They will grow on you or you can get creative and change them to a round with some custom work. That would be interesting...Enjoy the day !

The biggest marketing problem GM had IMO was sending out the IVERS covered with cloth that had round holes over the taillights. When the car was finally released all of us old round headlight guys were upset. Similar to the current election results for some!
Once you realize the square shape lines of the C7 need something more than old round taillights they look great to me. Didn't at first but do now.
Yep some were saying they were Camaro copies etc. Some folks said they would not buy the car. A company even offered a new rear bumper with round lights. That only lasted a few months until folks saw the C7 in person.

Come on, brother......this is the C7, no the C6. Someone made a rear end that had round tail lights for the car. You could do a search to find it-it was posted here in the C7 Community.

I wasn't here 3 years ago. I didn't say they had to be round. I just don't like all the nooks and crannies in them. I would liked to have a light with a more clean design. But like I also said, it is subjective.

It's not the same. The C7 has that black 'wing' to the outside of the lights. I guess it's supposed to fool people into not seeing the resemblance (?) while at the same time giving the impression that the car 'flies' down the road (?)I read an Jalopnik peice on the guy responsible for the design of the tail lights. In short, he doesn't care...
