I would like to try and put the longer wire from the switch I am using to turn my Range unit on and off behind the left side kick panel. I can't quite get the wire to slip behind the panel but am hesitant to try and remove this panel. I don't see any screws that are holding the panel in place. Can someone advise as to how to remove or at least loosen this panel so that I can slip the wire behind it? Thanks.
Although a video for a different mod, there is instruction on how to remove and install the driver's side sill plate/kick panel, about 14:30 for the install. Looks like you just pull up along the inner sill. Hope this helps.
It all snaps in place no screws the sill protector and the kick panel are snapped in better to warm the panels if they are cold less chance of breakage
You might want to look for a switch cable like this.
All I did was velco the switch on top the OBD connector and then neatly tie wrape the excess wire out of the way so it was invisible along with the Range unit up there near the HMI above that panel.

Bit confused on exactly what you are referring to here are two answers, see it either fit!
I ran my power wire for my radar detector to the rear fuse panel (as many of us did in 2013 before folks fond a way to tap the mirror.)
The floor molding (if that is what your referring to) just pulls out with your fingers and snaped back over the wire.
If, as some suggest, your referring to the sill plates, just took off my Stingray sill plates from my sold 2014 and will use then on my GS on order. Here is a PDF showing how I installed them. Did the same thing to remove and install the originals. Masking tape and a screw drive are needed to get started but then used plastic trim tools and my fingers. http://netwelding.com/Sill_Plate.pdf
You'll see the clips and where they are for the place to put the masking tape and screw driver first.

This is the switch I have. I just can't get it to slip behind the kick panel. The foot rest is in the way and the cord is a bit short. I think if I pull the kick panel away I can put it in place. I am able to push the cord under the edge of the door edge trim. Thanks.

Thanks, Art. If it warms up later this week, I'll try to remove the kick panel. I was able to push the cord under the edge of the sill plate without removal. I don't want to remove the sill plates as I have them covered with Expel.
Is the range elcroed to the OBD connector on the switch cord and then the switch is velcroed to the Range? Thanks.
The switch is velcroed to the OBD connector, actually the flat front of the corded plug that goes into the OBD. And the Range is hidden up near the HMI unit above the side panel.

I have had the range for awhile and decided to buy the obd connector extension.
I played around with several ways of trying to just put the switch in a convenient spot.
I noticed when the range was on the blue leds would reflect on the chrome plated foot rest in the footwell.
So I thought it would be a cool way to tell if I had the range on or off. So I simply folded the wire til I had just enough to do what I wanted and simply taped it all in place and taped the connector wire and switch to the side panel with the range hanging down almost to the floor mat. When the range is on the blue leds reflect very nicely on the foot rest.
Actually looks pretty cool but not annoying and with a quick glance I can tell if I have it on of off.
The range is actually not noticeable and unless you scrub your foot against the side panel it is out of the way too.
The blue leds make a nice subtle foot well light at night too.
A quick flip of the switch will make the lights reflect and is a good way of checking to see if the range is on before starting the car.
I ended up slipping the long end of the switch cord behind the left kick panel and under the sill plate trim. The switch is attached the carpet beside the driver's seat as is the actual Range unit. Neither interfere with the emergency door opener or the seat adjustment switches. You can look down and see if the lights are on the Range but it doesn't distract you when driving. Pleased with this setup. Thanks to the folks who advised me of this option.
