I was traveling yesterday and stopped to get some water and saw the new Car and Driver with a picture of the new ZR1 . . . of course it looks like the Z06 with a larger spoiler on the back and a different hood. It's just cool to see it there and listed as the #1 car that is worth waiting for . . . .
There's something about that hood. I wonder if it will fit a GS?
I would guess "no", at least not with the GS bumper cover.
If the drawing is accurate (and there is no reason to think that it is), looks like the hood and nose cone have to be used together, due to the new creases on the front of the hood extending down to either side of the cross-flag emblem on the front bumper cover.
If that's the case, its too bad, because I know a lot of owners have been liking the enlarged ports in the front of the "ZR1" nose drawings, and were hoping it would be an easy mod to swap their existing front bumper cover for the new hotness. However, if the hood also needs to be changed, then it becomes really expensive.
It'll be a zr1 without a doubt in my opinion. As for the wing it may not be the best looking but I don't think it looks bad at all. Downforce is going to be very important just like on the viper ACR for which this car will be a direct competitor. One thing that GM definitely cares about is getting their zr1 around every track faster than the current king the Viper Acr.
The spoiler is for folks who are crazy enough to try and drive 150 mph. I guess if you are going to track the car it would be helpful but on the street it is hideous just like the one on the WRX STi.

Maybe that's who they are marketing that car too. I would buy that car minus that wing. If I was twenty something maybe I would consider it but at 50 years old.....no freaking way.
