There are specific detailer brush made for every aspect of your car. Why use a tooth brush which have all sorts of types of bristles in them when for a few dollars you can have the proper tool?

That is what I do too - I just use my fingernail under a good microfiber cloth and it works fine. Plus I already have bunch of fingernails right on my hand, all of the time.

If you have a dark color do not use a toothbrush - it will scratch the hell out of your paint.
