So I didn't read this whole thing because I'm not adding boost to my car, but he ends up with the gauge in the secret compartment. It looks like a little bit of effort, and it appears he came up the drivers side footwell to get under it. Hopefully this helps, or at least gives you some ideas:

There's barely any room behind the compartment. I have my wideband gauge in there. I ran the wire through the driver's foot well from behind the fender. There is a rubber grommet you can cut and push the wires through. I took the entire dash out to get the cubby out to drill and it made it easier. It isn't as daunting as it looks. On my wideband gauge I had to take all the pins out of the wiring harness to make it smaller to feed the wires and then put it back together.
My alky control module is mounted under the dash by where your right knee sits.
