Padding protects from denting

If you steam that area chances are most of the wrinkles will disappear and fill right back in... very slowly move a handheld steamer up-and-down on the area and you'll see the wrinkles disappear.

Might have to give that a try. Just so happen to have a hand held steamer

I also bring my laundry with me so I can press a shirt or two. Might as well kill two birds with one stone, I say.

Pretty fancy. Simple me just keeps a small hand towel draped over that. Not so much to,protect just somethini have always done in all my cars.
