Your car is under warranty. Have your local dealer remove the glass and check for obstructions around the mounting surface. Sounds like the dealer is on board with you that there could be an issue.

Give the OP a break he was simply trying to share his concerns.

I have been looking at inventory C7's and as I was talking to a sales guy about a Z51 3LT on the lot he stated that the windshield needed to be replaced due to the cracking by the A pillar. new 2016 C7 with 6 miles. He told me they were waiting on a GM replacement.

I'm at 8,500 on my '16 and getting there. My '08 had 50,000 miles and it was like looking at the Milky Way when driving into the sun in late afternoon.

FWIW, I owned another car that broke a couple of windshields in similar fashion. A crack radiated from the passenger side of the windshield. I always felt it was a stress crack due to body alignment or a hard contact point. My dealer kept insisting I was hitting road debris, but I know better! One of the cracks occurred after turning on the defogger (hi-A/C) during a hard, warm rain. I think the temperature change exaggerated the stress in the glass. Fortunately my insurance covered it.

That's my story!

I've also seen threads reporting windshields repeatedly cracking from stress
As others mentioned, have the installer check for irregularities in the window Frame before installing the next windshield.

I've seen a few threads on cracking windshields too. It had nothing to do with rock chips, but was more of a manufacturing defect where the windshield sits in the channel.

OP - if there are no signs of a rock or other debris hitting the windshield, then keep pressing GM to make a replacement under warranty. And if they do, have them check for any problems in the channel area and fix as needed before installing the windshield.
