Default Pandora

Can someone explain how to add the Pardora icon to my home page? I have a 2015 2LT Z51 if that makes any difference.

Secondly what other popular app icons can be added to the home page and how?

Thanks in advance. btw according to Chevrolet.com/mylink a 2015 Corvette can have a Pandora app.

To get an icon from page to page it works like a phone. Touch and hold, then drag it to the edge of the screen until the page switches. It's really finicky though, so it might take a couple of tries.

Not exactly what I was asking. I do not have a Pandora icon, period. Further I have only 1 home screen populated with icons and Pandora is not there. I do not even have the left and right arrows (center left and center right of screen) on my home page because I do not have any icons on any other page (I guess there is 5 pages max).

So how do I get the Pandora icon? Does it magically appear after I pair my cell phone and start Pandora on it? I have not tries that yet but this seems like a big stretch.

There are no arrows on the screen. You just swipe left to switch screens like a phone. Make sure to hit the home button first. I have a 2016 and Pandora is there, I don't know about the 2015's, I would just assume its there too. Pandora only works with a cable too, I think. I dunno, I get this car and my Ford confused.

On my car I hit the home button and then I swipe. Nothing. However if I select an icon on the home page and hold it for a few seconds the menu screen goes into edit mode (just like the owners manual says). In edit mode I see the arrows as pictured in the owners manual. I touch an arrow (left or right) and I move to a blank screen. There are no icons on any other home screen for me.

I have a Samsung (Android) phone. So I do not plug it in, instead I connect to the car via blue tooth. I have yet to try connecting my phone to the car AND ALSO launching Pandora. That is my next step but I'd be a little surprised if Pandora then shows up as an icon on my cars home page.

I'll report back on this tomorrow.

If your phone is not plugged in you will see the projection app. If you have an iPhone then once you plug in you will see that replaced with the CarPlay app. With your Android it will now be Android Auto. Should all be covered in your infotainment manual.

He's got a 2015 so there's no CarPlay or AA. I can't remember but I thought Pandora was already there. I dunno, maybe someone that's a Pandora user will chime in.

Not sure if this will help, because darn-near everything the '14 has or does is different, but mine has Pandora capability on the infotainment screen. It was there long before I put the app on my phone.

OK, I was able to get Pandora to work in my car (2015 2LT Z51). All I had to do was to pair my Samsung phone with the car which it does automatically. Then I start Pandora on my phone. Lastly I push the Media button below the touch screen until Bluetooth is selected. Pandora music then plays through the cars audio.

Here is the strange part. After my phone is paired, if I hit the Media button to select Bluetooth and I have NOT started Pandora, somehow my phone start playing music from Google Music Play through the cars audio system. Note that I did not start any app on my phone. Its like the car that is connected to my phone via Bluetooth started Google Music Play on my phone for me since no other audio service was running.

I still do not see the Pandora icon on my Infotainment System but I guess who cares. The only drawback I guess is that the cars touch screen does not have any Pandora specific functions. I need to control Pandora on my phone.

Next challenge, load music onto USB drive.

Just a tip that may help. I bought a new USB stick to transfer music for
'16. It didn't work after transferring all that music. I found that right out of the pack I have to reformat the new USB sticks before I transfer any music for it to play properly.

So I assume that for the 2017 Vette's (mine is a GS), that there is no Pandora icon at all on the screens. (Older Vette's...like 2014s and maybe 2015s?...apparently do have a Pandora icon as seen in several YouTube videos I've seen.) Is this correct?

I suspect I do not see the Pandora icon because my car was originally built for the Canadian market.

At this point I have loaded a lot of music onto a USB and have created playlists. That is cool! Much less concerned about the lack of integrated Pandora.

I have a 2017 and I only get the Pandora logo when my phone is physically connected and in Car Play. Since it will auto connect with bluetooth I just start Pandora using the phone

There's nothing special going on here. Pairing a phone to your car and using any media app on your phone will play that media through your car stereo speakers. You could have as easily done this with Spotify, IHeartRadio as well as podcast players like BeyondPod and even audio books with Audible, etc. The thing about Pandora (well for 2014s and 2015s since you lack the hardware for AA and CarPlay) is there is a companion app actually running in the MyLink2 system. I'm not sure why you can't find that icon but I would ask your dealer about that. You should have arrows and secondary screens on MyLink - See
.

Right. And similarly it would have played BeyondPod or Audible or Spotify or whatever you last used on your phone. All you are doing is using the Media profile of Bluetooth.

And that is exactly the point! Pandora is the only app that I know that is not produced by Chevy's engineers but by an outside party - Pandora (I have heard of the Stitcher app being available on MyLink2 but only ever heard of that running on a Chevy Malibu. I don't like Stitcher anyway). The idea is to have Pandora running on the Big Screen. See previous YouTube clip.

With Android Auto (and CarPlay but I'm not an iGuy) your phone becomes a projection system projecting apps onto the Big Screen and receiving button press notifications. This allows you to have Google Maps on your Big Screen (with Waze supposedly coming - I'd say by Christmas - again apologies to Perl6 people) as well as things like BeyondPod (my favorite as I listen to podcasts about 80% of the time), Audible, Pandora (Yes there's Pandora in AA if it's on your phone), Google Play Music as well as a plethora of other media apps like IHeartRadio, etc. I don't use too many of these.

With AA not only do you have more apps on the Big Screen than with MyLink (and think about it - you gonna set up a dealer appointment to install say Audible should it ever come to MyLink?!? And what about updates?) but they will be updated frequently like any of your smartphone apps.

Unfortunately since you have a 2015 you cannot use AA or CarPlay because your car lacks the hardware required to do that.

For better fidelity I connect my cellphone headphone jack to the aux input in the center console. Just run Pandora on the phone and hit the Media/Aux icon. You don't get to see the song play on the screen or have screen controls, but the sound improvement is worth it IMO.
