Default WeatherTech cargo liner....?

Anyone know if the weathertech liner in the cargo area on a coupe helps stop items from sliding around so much? I feel like almost anything I put in the cargo area slides around.. Or if you have any experience or input for a different product, please share.

Thank you

You can use it, but sometimes I'll put a towel under an item as well to prevent sliding..

I just got the WeatherTech cargo liner, and think its great!

The large cargo net is very useful. I've had mine for a couple of years. I moved the little factory net to the anchor points behind the seats so small stuff, like umbrellas, are always close at hand while still seated. (yes, some of us are all weather drivers). I also keep a black Corvette logoed throw blanket in the back. Useful for putting under stuff, packing around stuff, or covering stuff so prying eyes can't see what ya got.

It's not very grippy, I don't think it would help. I have one in my Convertible.

I have one in my SUV, works great with cardboard boxes for grocery shopping...in the C7 the add on Stingray mat is more effective, but because of the tight cornering we do I still use a cardboard low height box to keep stuff from flying all around which is annoying while you are driving...the box stays in place nicely.

almost forget, the WT is not inexpensive, costs about the same as the Stingray cargo mat. I would recommend the C7 mat...

The corner stoppers used in conjunction with the mat will do an excellent job of keeping your items from sliding around. I have had these in several vehicles, although not my Vettes.

I have the Weather Tech liner in my car; no it won't help stuff from sliding around.
Short story:
Couple days after I put liner in, I put my briefcase with laptop in back and started off to work at 5am. Had to make an emergency stop (45 Mph - brakes locked-up, ABS chattering). Briefcase came flying through in-between the seats, hit the mirror and the whole soft-case lodged between the dashboard and windshield on passenger side. Good thing it didn't hit me, or break anything (mirror, laptop, or windshield). The CAT lived to see another day - I now put my case on the passenger seat or I make sure I use the netting for groceries etc. Although, I'm not sure the plastic netting clips wouldn't break in the event of something substantially heavy at speed.

Many C7 coupe owners have purchased the 3 section cargo net. I too have one, and it works great. Easy to install. Takes about 1 minute or less.

Perhaps because their products do an excellent job of protecting the carpeting in the car. I have a Weather Tech cargo liner in my C5 and have no regrets about buying it. I'd have their floor liners too if they just made them in the right color.

Because for me, I don't want the filthy, damp, disgusting bottom of my hockey equipment bag, which has been drug & set on black rubber flooring, covered in sweat, beer, & walked on by boots, sneakers, skates etc., sitting on, getting my carpet wet, stained etc..

The WeatherTech cargo liner protects the carpet from all that.
Every week, I rinse it off, wash it with Dawn & disinfect it with Lysol.
Comes up cleaner than clean, no odor, & looks brand new!
Goes in & out in a split second!
Carpet looks & stays new!

Thats why I use it..
Same for travel..
You think I want the filthy disgusting bottom of luggage on the carpet?
Hell no! The WeatherTech is GREAT!

I put the Weather Tech floorboard and cargo mat in mine. Nobody but me really ever goes in the car so not much interested in specialty things, more just for protection. I also have the same setup in the RAV4. Things do not slide at all in the RAV4 but do a lot in the Corvette. Obviously GM engineered a little too much grip and power for cargo hauling. I'm blaming Chevrolet.

These are interesting. I looked them up and it sounds like they are just "grippy" on the bottom? So you can just move them around depending upon what you wish to help secure? I wonder how they'd hold up in the back of a Vette.

These corner stoppers are indeed grippy. As said, I have only used these in my daily drivers and in normal everyday street use. As good as they are for that, they probably wont hold a case of beer in place while autocrossing in your Vette.

They have a thin layer on the bottom of what appears to be rubber. I think for best results in cargo securement, they need to be used in conjunction with a weathertech rubber mat. And yes, you can place these stoppers anywhere as dictated by the size of your luggage, cargo, etc.

From the Weathertech site;

WeatherTech CargoTech trunk and cargo area containment system is designed to help organize trunk area cargo, such as groceries, coolers, gym bags, sporting equipment, luggage and more. And with the help of a super-grippy underside, CargoTech will help prevent cargo from sliding around
