From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

wow, good for you, your Corvette and Chevy....just goes to show what regular maintenance and a solid foundation can get ya....no Ferrari engine can do that.
I could care less about electronics lol I jut want that beautiful V8 to last me
You'll care a lot if the electronic part that fails is an ECM, or BCM, and parts are no longer available. You can't even put down a window, or open a door without it getting an approval from the BCM. I believe these are the parts that will put Corvettes out of commission long before the mechanicals need a rebuild.
There's already a problem getting replacements for these parts on early C5s.
We can only hope that the after market will pick up the slack for rebuilt ECMs, and BCMs.

I would have to guess that the engine will probably outlive every other component in a Corvette. I have seen many a small block Chevy engine still be able to incinerate tires with a quarter million miles. If you want to worry about something, I'd start with the electronics.
That original 265 engine wasn't afflicted with AFM, direct injection, and 20-weight oil.
That's very true....But, what I think he was saying was the ENGINE itself, a small block V8 along with the valve train has evolved from that engine. In fact that engine had a Generator and other antiquated items....The Modern Corvette Engine, in fact, is capable of many hundreds of thousands of miles BECAUSE of AFM, DIRECT INJECTION & MOBIL 1
